What happens in those Christmas movies doesn’t happen in real life… right?
When Blake Sunday, an actor well known for his super fluffy roles in made-for-television movies, comes to the small but bustling town of Hidden Springs, Missouri to film a Christmas movie, he knows immediately that it’s where he wants to put down roots. His restless, energetic nature gets him sent on a coffee run where he steps inside Knick-Knack Patty-Cakes and meets its adorable owner.
Declan Alexander is chubby, clumsy, has wild curly black hair that can only be tamed with a stocking cap and has an unnatural obsession with made-for-TV Christmas movies.… And Blake Sunday. So, when the gorgeous actor comes waltzing into his bakery, naturally Declan becomes a force of destruction on feet.
Blake is completely smitten by the shy man, and does everything he can to get the guy’s attention, but Declan has one excuse or another anytime Blake asks him out, and though Blake understands how busy the man is, he’s starting to think it might be Declan’s way of turning him down nicely.
A snow globe with an interesting scene laid out inside, a few too many peppermint margaritas and Declan’s secrets spilling nephew real Blake back in when he thinks about giving up and give him the courage to go for it again even after he promised himself he wouldn’t.
Although this book is part of A Snow Globe Christmas series, it is a complete standalone, and it isn’t a requirement that you read the previous books to follow along. We wish everyone a happy holiday season.
REVIEW:
We’ve all had celebrity crushes, right? I had a few when I was growing up, stars like Leif Garrett, Parker Stevenson, and Scott Baio. I know, I know, who are they? Well, they may have been before your time. When I was in grade school and high school, they were the ones lording it over in Hollywood’s TV series genre.
Nowadays, we are still interested/obsessed with TV movies and TV series. There are a lot of them out there. I, honestly, have been obsessed with American TV series since I was young and I could understand them. But of course I will never see the actors in person, no matter how much I want to, that is so far from reality. But I know in the US, a lot of films, TV series or TV movies go on location, and the people in those places are so lucky to be able to see their favorites in person.
Now, what if the one celebrity you totally have a crush on or obsessed with comes in to your bakery? It’s like a fantasy come true, right? What if he is so sexy, and with a voice to die for? And you are not? You are a little bit on the chubby side, but this delicious specimen shows interest in you! You would think, “yeah, right!” But what if he really is?
Declan has been crushing on Blake Sunday the actor for a long time. When Declan’s town becomes the location for a movie that stars his crush, it is a dream come true for him. Now, he knows he is not sexy, he is a bit on the chubby side, and that someone like Blake will never be attracted to him in that way, but he can dream. Lo and behold, Blake is really attracted to Declan. What follows is a whirlwind romance of a “love at first sight” proportion.
I love how sweet this story is. I love Declan’s character, how accepting and positive he is! Blake is so down-to-earth, he doesn’t act like a celebrity at all. They both wear their hearts on their sleeves. They have no filter, they say what is on their minds and that is a big YES for me. We always find characters who are second-guessing what they want because of all the “restrictions” that they put upon themselves. It is great to read one that totally are forthcoming with what they want and go for it. So, I think you will truly enjoy this one!
