Thrown out and thrown away.
Lorne Austen—on the very day his alpha’s youngest children were fifteen—was told to pack his bags and leave the only real home he had ever known. Heartbroken and alone he takes shelter from the snowstorm with other stranded travelers, miles away from the family he had always considered his.
Doctor Jonathan Owens has personal reasons for never wanting to mate an omega, but all his good intentions are tested to the limit when he meets Lorne. After spending the night together he is devastated to find Lorne has vanished without a trace.
Soon enough, Lorne discovers the impossible has happened and he is pregnant. But the law says unmated omegas cannot keep the babies they give birth to. Eventually, realizing something is badly wrong with his pregnancy, he goes to the clinic and comes face to face with Jonathan again.
All Lorne has wanted is a family he won’t lose. Jonathan has spent years making sure he never needed one. Faced with the real danger that the babies won’t even survive long enough to be born, can these two find love and the strength they need in each other or will their differences always pull them apart?
REVIEW:
You guys are killing me with my omegas. Shew. I’m loving these stories though, and this series. And after reading book 1 and what happened with Gabe, I was happy as could be to see this was Jonathan’s story. But, of course, he’s a stubborn cuss who needs to learn to use his words. So this, of course, was a story that was harder than it needed to be. But we always can use a little angst. Makes the story that much sweeter.
Lorne was devastated. The babies he had raised from day one are now being taken away from him because of stupid omega rights. Or lack thereof. Once the twins hit fifteen, it was time for him to go. And the alpha and his wife, completely lied about everything. And now all he had was a small suitcase and nothing else to call his own. And now he didn’t even have his suitcase, because he had to walk miles in a snowstorm and it broke. But just when he thought it was bad already, it got worse. There was nowhere for him to sleep, warm up or anything. Until Jonathan heard what was going on. After several nights of comfort and passion, Lorne knew he had to leave. Jonathan tried like crazy to find him but couldn’t. And didn’t expect to see him again until Lorne showed up very pregnant in his clinic, with not one but three babies. Lorne and the babies lives are on the line and Jonathan actually wants to keep him forever. Which for him, is a shock in itself. But everything seems to be conspiring against them, including his ex and the children Lorne raised. And it’s going to be a toss up whether Lorne and Jonathan get a happily ever after or if everything is going to break them apart.
I HATE that omegas have crappy rights. I have always hated that omegas are treated like crap and as weak. You guys know that about me. And when lied to, it makes it that much worse. I wanted to reach through and smack Lorne’s old alpha and his wife. Making him think he was having things one way and completely lying to him and then lying to the kids about the whole situation. We really need a way to throat punch people in books. Just sayin. But what I loved is that everything that Jonathan tried to avoid, he completely wanted in Lorne. I was so sad that he kept flubbing it up and not communicating with Lorne or letting him know everything. I know it was hard because Lorne was already super stressed over the condition of his…their babies. But Lorne still had a right to know. And he had a right to know that he was being manipulated by super witch. I hate her. But that’s what happens when lack of communication is involved.
But Jonathan was on new ground as was Lorne. They were both virgins, so to speak, when it came to certain things. Even with their backgrounds and what they do or did for a living. So, they had a lot to learn. They had a lot they had to cover and ways they needed to grow. As with everything, it takes time. And a lot of patience. But in the end, it’s worth it.
