Can they salvage the situation when the truth comes out?

REVIEW:
Connor is trying to learn to crochet. His friend signs him up for a course when he’s having some troubles. He’s a bit ambivalent about it, but on his first night, he rungs into Finn – a cute guy who is leaving the center. When Finn assumes he’s there for boxing, he doesn’t disabuse him of that notion. He finds his class and surprisingly to him, he’s not the only guy in the class and he actually kinda likes it 😉 The instructor is a very kind lady who helps him get on track.
As Connor keeps attending the class, he runs into Finn again. Finn’s friends from HIS class notice that he’s got an interest in Connor – and so eventually Finn invites Connor out for a drink. However, things don’t go great and Finn ends up leaving after Connor expresses some disdain for perceived “non-masculine” pursuits. This is a pose on Connor’s part and both he and Finn have made some completely incorrect assumptions. After that disastrous non-date, Finn avoids Connor. But in the spirit of holidays, they are persuaded to maybe issue second chances.
This is a cute story that really points out the danger of assumptions. Between stereotypes based on presentation and assumptions based on gender roles, both Finn and Connor try to project something that maybe they aren’t and they both make missteps. Luckily the lovely instructor of Connor’s class, Angela, is kind of a Christmas angel for these two 🙂 She does a bit of magic herself and saves the day. Merry Christmas to all!
