BLURB:
A blizzard. A Christmas rescue. A man with the heart of an angel.
Hayden
Hayden knows it was stupid to think he could walk home from the office and beat the blizzard. So what if he worked out all the time until he was big and strong. So what if he hated to ever ask for help. Loners who think they can do everything themselves are just as vulnerable as anyone. His only consolation is if he dies there will be very few people who will miss him.
Matthew
The half-frozen man falling through the door to Matthew’s coffee shop is more than alarming, but it’s a good thing he’d forgotten to lock that front entrance or the beautiful guy covered in snow might have died in the cold.
The man is gorgeous, soft-spoken, helpful, maybe even a bit old-fashioned in his manners. Just the type Matthew always wished for but never met. Sharing a fire and a snowed-in night with him will be no hardship.
When the storm lasts more than a day, attraction blooms. But when it is over, will Hayden and Matthew’s feelings fade? Or will holiday charm and a heart-warming miracle draw them together again?
Rescue, forced proximity, overwhelming attraction, blizzards, and a heart-warming Christmas miracle.
Although this book is part of A Snow Globe Christmas series, it is a complete stand alone and it isn’t a requirement that you read the previous books to follow along. We wish everyone a happy holiday season.
REVIEW:
You know, being a cynic, I often get tired of romances at times. Funny, I know, considering I write reviews for the blog. But I still love the ones I read. It gets me out of my head space. I come across a lot I like and some I really love, and I think this one falls as one I love. It’s just got such a sweetness to it. It doesn’t mean it doesn’t come with the occasional butthead who I want to smack, but overall the good outweighs the bad. And in this case, the good is a lot.
Hayden wasn’t thinking about the weather until it was too late. Living 2 miles from work, he often liked to walk to get exercise and stay in shape. But working on a project, caused his head to be in the clouds and not paying attention to the blizzard outside. But he can make it, right? Wrong. He’s getting closer and closer but he’s completely frozen as he steps in a coffee shop, only to be told they’re closed. But he’s so cold he can’t really answer. That and the figure in the light looks like an angel come to save him. Maybe. Maybe he has died and this is the angel to greet him. But Matthew is pure human and determined to get Hayden to back to warmth and health. They are snowed in for several days and it’s pure bliss. But when reality comes back, it comes with an ex trying to force Matthew to sell his shop and Hayden who feels like he’s being pushed away for the ex. So now that reality has set in, will things go back to how they were before the blizzard or will they continue on how they were?
Reality often brings with it the crappy things we often wish to ignore. When the world fades away for a few days, it’s often easy to forget the world around you and the people in it. It’s like you’re in this bubble that no one can penetrate and the happiness you’ve dreamed of can finally be found. But what Hayden and Matthew both had to learn, is the happiness didn’t have to be over. Hayden found a way to help Matthew, and Matthew gave Hayden a life of color. But even if it wasn’t for the material stuff, they still had a connection they had with no one else. They were truly interested in each other. The stuff exes used to criticize or hurt them, was something that was an interest in each other. It was the little things. Something as small as a snow globe that actually ended up making all the difference. It doesn’t mean life doesn’t come without struggles, but they are learning a little at a time, that if they have no one else, they have each other. And even if it never lasts, it’s something they both will be grateful for having. But they’re determined to make it last forever.
