REVIEW:
I absolutely love this year’s Advent Calendar theme! Although I know many people who are crafty like my mom who’s always crocheting, I am not. I don’t know how to crochet or knit and I don’t have a creative bone in my body. I do love reading about people who are crafty & I especially love reading about guys who pursue crafts dominated by women.
Tristan signs up to fill a table with hand-crocheted items for a local LGBTQ charity holiday fair. He doesn’t know how to crochet, but it can’t be that hard since his gran used to be crocheting things all the time. He soon realizes it’s not nearly as easy as his gran made it look. He finds out there’s a crocheting class at the community center where his brother-in-law works.
There he meets the class instructor Charlie. And he’s immediately attracted. Charlie seems to be as well. However as much as Tristan drops not-so-subtle clues he want more from Charlie than crocheting lessons, Charlie doesn’t take the hook.
Fellow classmate Ivy does her best to matchmake but it takes some strong words for each of the guys to pull their heads out.
This story was full of fluff & sweetness. Exactly what I want my holiday stories to be. Although Tristan was clueless about how much time & energy go into hand-making craft items, he was determined not to let people down by not delivering on his promise.
Charlie was a very attentive instructor to Tristan but needed a strong push to agree to date Tristan. I though his excuse that he couldn’t date Tristan because of being his instructor was a cop-out since there was no money or grades involved in their teaching relationship. However, when Charlie realized he would be missing something really wonderful if he let Tristan go, he really came through when Tristan needed him the most.
I love holiday stories that are full of fluff & angst free so I recommend this to anyone who feels the same.

fluff & sweetness sounds exactly the right thing for a Christmas story… Sounds really good
Sweet is just what I want in a Christmas story.
I like the premise!
Sounds like a great story for the holidays!
Interesting – I have a friend who is a prolific crocheter, myself I can do a chain and thats about it!
