BLURB:
Artist Trevor Morrison has always appreciated the little things in life, treating each day as a gift. And with good reason; he’s been on the transplant-recipient list for too long now. When he learns just how numbered his days truly are, he resolves not to take them for granted. But he won’t be unrealistic, either – which means romantic commitments are off the table.
Marcus Roberts seems to have it all. He’s handsome, financially sound, and on the fast track to partnership at a prestigious law firm. In reality, though, his drive for success has meant no time for friends or relationships. Add in the fact that his family discarded him long ago, and he’s facing yet another holiday season alone.
When the biggest snowstorm to hit Colorado in decades leaves Marc and Trevor stranded at the same hotel, a chance encounter and a night of passion lead to more than either of them expected. Finding comfort in each other is a welcome surprise, but time is not on their side. Either they find a way to beat the odds, or they lose each other forever.
REVIEW:
If you are ever looking for the perfect book to get you into the holiday spirits, this one is a must. It was heart-warming heart-breaking all at the same time. It will hit all your feels and really make you think of what’s truly important in your life. And the narration by Nick J. Russo takes this story just that one step further.
This book will hit you immediately right in the feels. When we first met Trevor he received some horrible news; if a donor kidney didn’t become available soon, he most likely wouldn’t make it until next Christmas.
Mark spent his days, all days at work. He’s fast rising in the law firm where he worked and on brink of making partner. Everything and everyone in his life was secondary to work, he’d lost more than one boyfriend over it. Just before Christmas he was forced to leave early but before he could reach home, a snowstorm stranded him and other travellers in a hotel for the night. In a hotel where he met Trevor.
The two were immediately fascinated by each other, their connection palpable. Needless to say that what could have been a miserable and cold night was anything but. It was a night that changed the direction of both of their lives. Right from the start you could feel that Trevor and Mark were destined for each other. They could too. If only there was more time.
There are many feelings in this book, you’ll experience the thrill of falling in love, but also the sadness of counting the days, the darkness looming in the horizon. I loved how perfect these two were for each other, the love they shared. How they both made the other live.
Nick J. Russo pulled out all the stops on this one. So many emotions! When Trevor was stranded and faced spending what would possibly his last Christmas alone, in a chair in a hotel lobby it was so heart-breaking. It made me curse the weather, fate and whatnot. Russo made you feel that anguish, the despair of not being able to get to his family, of not having a room to sleep in, feeling his last days slowly ticking down.
As for Mark, he captured this workaholic right off the bat. His irritability of being stranded in a blizzard when he could have been working. He also captured them both falling for each other, where Mark begged for Trevor to stay and how much Trevor longed to do just that. A Fortunate Blizzard is filled with emotions and Nick J. Russo hits them all.
If there is one thing that this book teaches you, it’s that everyone should live life to the fullest. Take every chance on love, because time is precious. And sometimes if you wish hard enough there might just be a Christmas miracle in store for you.
