Maggie’s Day Out
(This story takes place prior to events in ‘On The Same Page’
Maggie stood up, clapping her hands together. “Let’s go, fussy pants.”
Her driver-slash-companion stared at her. “Go? Where?”
She waved a hand at him. “That’s not important. We need to go now if we’re going to make it on time.”
Maxwell regarded her curiously. “I think we should talk to Jarod first.”
She tilted her head. “And why is that?”
“Because he owns the limo.”
She laughed, and Maxwell simply stared. Maggie narrowed her gaze. “You make it sound like that gives him a say in what we’re going to do. Now let’s go. We have a few stops to make.”
“I don’t think I like this idea too much,” he grumbled.
“Oh for… I’m taking the boys on a shopping trip, okay? Geez, and you wonder why I call you fussy.”
“All you had to do was say so.” He stood and made his way to the door. “I do have an appointment, so I won’t be able to go with you.”
She waved him off. “That’s fine. We can take a taxi home.”
Maxwell held up his hands. “Oh, no. I’m telling you that if you go, you’re stuck there until I come for you. No way in hell will I tell Jarod that I dropped you off and left you there. I like my balls where they are, thank you very much.”
Maggie peered at him. “I’m old enough to be on my own, thank you. I raised Jarod alone from the time he was fourteen. I held him through Phillip’s death, and helped him to be strong enough to lean on Eli. I live on my own, and I’m perfectly capable of—”
Maxwell shook his head. “Stop. Just stop. I did not say you weren’t capable. I’m saying that it’s my job to be there for you. I don’t want you to take a taxi.” He sighed. “You may not believe this, but I like driving you around. Before I took this job, I had to deal with self-important types who wouldn’t remember my name from one minute to the next. When I met Eli and Jarod, that changed. They treated me like a person. But that was secondary to the moment I met you.”
Maggie would never forget meeting Maxwell. He’d been so prim and proper, calling her ma’am and standing to attention when he spoke with her. She knew there was a fun young man under all that veneer, though. One who was aching to not only be seen, but to be acknowledged. The first week, she asked him to drive her to the store to get some tea. He’d snapped his heels together and tipped his hat. That had been quite enough of that, as far as Maggie was concerned. They went down to the garage and Maxwell opened the back door for you. She sniffed and got into the front seat.
“What are you doing?” he gasped.
“Riding up front. This is where the fun happens, you know.” She grinned. “Did I ever tell you about being in a limo with Mick Jagger? Oh, he was all over me. But, it was 1968, and I wasn’t the freewheeling type you see now. I told him no, and he said he really wanted to be with me. I explained to him you can’t always get what you want.”
Maxwell’s jaw dropped open. “You’re kidding.”
“I have all kinds of stories, which you’d hear about if you only took the stick out of your arse.” She put a hand on his arm. “I don’t need a driver, I need a friend. A partner in crime, if you will. We don’t need to tell Jarod everything, because you and I are going to be thick as thieves, and we’re going to share all kinds of secrets together. Like the club motto goes, ‘I won’t tell if you won’t.’”
Maxwell hadn’t seemed convinced, but neither had he insisted that she got into the back either. He thawed slowly, laughing at her stories, telling her things he admitted he’d never said to anyone else. In turn, she opened his eyes to a world that existed outside of a pressed uniform. He went from being driver, to being like another son to her.
“I’m sorry. I worry. I… I can’t lose you.” Maggie was plunged back into the present when Maxwell bent down and wrapped his arms around her shoulders. “You’re more than a friend to me. You’re my family.”
She patted his back. “I feel the same way. I’m sorry if I snapped. I’ve been a little under the weather lately, and it makes me cranky.”
“Under the weather? Have you spoken with the doctor?”
Oh, she definitely had. “Yep. He said it was a touch of the flu, but that I’d be okay as soon as it worked its way through my system.”
A little white lie wouldn’t hurt anyone.
“Now come on, I need to get the boys to the strip club while I have—”
“Strip club? I thought you said you were going shopping?”
“I am,” she promised. “Window shopping for a sexy hunk.” She winked. “You can come, if you want.”
Maxwell frowned. “I have an appointment,” he said, but there was such sadness in his voice. Then, inexplicably, he brightened. “Oh, the heck with it. I haven’t seen strippers since Thunder Down Under last month.” He kissed her atop the head. “Let’s go.”
She reached out and took his hand, then pressed it to her lips.
“I love you, you know.”
She did, and she loved him enough that maybe one day, she’d let him in on her secret.

When a Dom invites a shy bookstore owner to live out his fantasies, more than one life will be transformed.
Words are Heath Snow’s life. He can’t remember a time when he didn’t have his nose buried in a book. He couldn’t make a living as a writer, so he did the next best thing—he bought a bookstore. But when he’s not selling books, he’s living vicariously through the characters he encounters. Real men can’t hold a candle to the hot men in his favorite genre.
The Pride display in the bookstore window may be what captured Xavier James’s attention, but the man enthusing about books interests him more. The BDSM book lying next to the cash register is a pleasant surprise, and when he draws attention to it, Heath’s flushed cheeks and bright eyes pique Xavier’s curiosity even further.
Xavier is about to learn that some things are more important than work, and Heath is about to step out of his comfort zone, into a place where fantasy and real life coexist.

Parker Williams loves the written word. The discovery of MM romance, as well as a chance encounter with an amazing author, changed the course of his life as he began to write the stories his men were whispering to him. With the help of some amazing friends and a community of writers he’s proud to be part of, Parker continues telling stories of love, hurt, comfort, and sometimes tosses in a little angst for fun.
