Uri Kessler is a bit of a klutz. Recently divorced from a guy he married too quickly and yearning to have a holiday that feels special, he decides to make Hanukkah candles. The results are literally a blazing disaster. But Uri’s mishap helps him get to know Oscar Cortez, his sexy new neighbor, and the two men instantly hit it off. While Uri finds himself drawn to Oscar, he’s also afraid to make a mess of their budding relationship. It’ll take a small miracle to make things work between them.
REVIEW:
Uri Kessler is an utter klutz and years of accidents have left his body marked, scratched and scarred. He’s so adorably resigned to a fate of awaiting doom whenever he moves, that I just wanted to cover him in bubble wrap and protect him from all harm…
…especially when he starts talking about making his own candles. It might seem an easy endeavor, but not with Uri’s track record. For him, following instructions spells disaster. Something as simple as a crafts project with wax and a moment’s inattention is enough to turn his house and possessions to crisp.
You might think: ‘oh, no! Poor Uri!’. Normally, that would be the case. This time, though, the amazing thing is that, for once, lady luck has turned her gaze on our clumsy hero. Because, homeless and with only a pair of gray boxer briefs (yeah, the boring kind) to his name, Uri is invited into the home of Oscar, the cute guy next door.
They’re so sweet together. They have an instant connection, and recoup time is followed by a dinner date, and a wonderful Hanukkah with each other later, Uri and Oscar are hoping for a real, happy future with one another.
Get Lit is about how one can have his life beautifully turn around. It was so much fun watching Uri’s dark cloud of doom turn into sunshine into Oscar’s caring hands. The story is laughter, memories, affection and perfect gifts…the best to fill your hearts with holiday cheer
