Dagger Drummond and Ryan Pierce have been married for years. They’ve experienced firsthand what living under the lights at center stage can do to even the strongest relationships, but somehow they’ve managed to remain on solid ground – until now.
Ryan realizes he wants more from their marriage, but Dagger is too fearful to give it to him. A disconnection is forged, and suddenly the two who are known as being the heart and soul of the dual touring bands, Black Ice and Ivory Tower, are out of sync. Having the backbone of the band family at odds sends Dagger home to make amends.
Just as their jagged edges begin to smooth, tragedy strikes and nearly rips them apart for good. It leaves one of them fighting for his life and both reaching for a future that may no longer be obtainable.
Fall Again is a full-length update story featuring the main characters from Fall For Me, Book One in the Rock Gods Series and comes with a hard-earned HEA.
REVIEW:
Oh my goodness gracious what a ride Ann Lister took us on this time!!! I know to expect a whirlwind ride when it’s Ann writing about her Rock Gods but this one really was a doozy.
Dagger is realizing that his relationship with Ryan has been slipping but he is fearful of what it will take to get back on track…a family! Ryan is ready for the next step and has been patiently waiting for Dagger to get on the same page. A page that has been a longtime coming but has stalled out. Dagger realizes that he has to have a heart-to-heart talk with Ryan or he might wind up losing everything that is precious to him. What he didn’t realize was how soon that might be a very real possibility and he won’t have a say in the matter when tragedy strikes.
I knew something was up with Dagger and Ryan but wasn’t sure what it was. I knew that Ryan hadn’t been touring with Dagger like at the beginning of their relationship but I figured that he had his own career and the touring was get in the way of his writing. What I didn’t expect was that things had broken down a quite a bit in their relationship. The daily calls and texts had dwindled, but that’s expected once the new shine wears off and the day-to-day life gets in the way. But I would have never expected that “The Rock God” Dagger Drummond would be afraid to take the next step in their relationship. I know that he was dealt a really shitty hand when it came to the parental units, since they really can’t be classified as parents like Ryan grew up with. However I didn’t realize how deeply they had scarred him.
There were a few moments where I was fearful to turn to the next page. Ms. Lister has you deep in the tragedies that California has been dealing with. Whether it is raging fires, blustering winds or devastating landslides California has been decimated by Mother Nature these last several years. This book highlights the risks that people now face daily, with little to no notice, to life and limb.
The sweet “additions” to the Drummond/Pierce household were another unexpected gift. I loved watching Dagger be commanded by his sweet little princess Lita. What a doll. And I loved Ryan’s deep connection from the very start with Brutus. I particularly loved how Lita truly saved the day. The proof that size has nothing over raw determination and love.
I was thrilled that we got to have another journey with my original Rock God and his man. I fell in love with Dagger and Ryan first and they have always held a special place in my heart within the Black Ice and Ivory Tower family. And family is exactly what these two bands have become. Through heartache and tragedy along side the good times, these men and their mates are always there for each other. I particularly loved the support that Alex gave to Dagger. The support and love that these two have for each other is heartfelt and touching. I am looking forward to the next step in all these men’s lives as they shift gears and move onward to the future. A future that looks bright and a bit more accommodating to where their lives have transformed to.
This book is a part of a fabulous series. I highly recommend that you read these books in order to understand the dynamics of where all these men are and how they got to this point. Great new addition to one of my all-time favorite rock series. And I’m looking forward to more to come!
