Rule #18: Daddy’s boy will always believe in his Santa Daddy.
Homeless, alone, and now jobless, Cameron Evans is lost… until he’s found after a prominent local attorney literally trips over him when the boy is passed out from dehydration.
Scott Hendrickson has two things in life: his job as an assistant district attorney, and his son Davey. Other than that, he lives alone in a house that’s too big, too empty, too… lonely.
It’s not just Cameron’s life that might change for the better when Scott takes him in. Scott can provide material things and security, but Cameron returns the favor by breathing fresh air into Scott’s stale life.
Two men who need each other… one magical holiday season. Could a little Christmas magic be all that’s needed to bring the biggest gift of all? Maybe Cameron doesn’t need a Sugar Daddy… because he already has a Santa Daddy.
This is the third book in a series about not-so-perfect Daddies, adorable “boys,” and one sassy brat with an insane list of rules. Get ready for all the squishy holiday feels you’d want from a Susan Hawke book.
REVIEW:
I have to admit, the Daddy trope isn’t my favorite, although I like a silver fox, but there is something about this series that has just grabbed me. It’s funny, snarky, sassy, with a little bit of angst. This one broke my heart some more, especially after reading the last one. But it’s still a good book. And with the holiday season coming up, it’s a book of hope and a bit of Santa Daddy miracles.
Cameron captured my heart in this book. Having been kicked out of his home, because of his asshole father, he was struggling to survive. Even at the job he had. But seeing Scott kept throwing him off balance at the restaurant and he kept dropping and breaking stuff and was fired. Now not only was he homeless, he was jobless. And when Scott found him again, passed out from failing health. But something about Cameron captured Scott and wouldn’t let him go. He was even more pissed about his situation when he found out who his family was. But Scott was determined to provide this young man with safety and security, and maybe down the road, something else. Cameron keeps wishing on a star that his wish will come true for a Daddy of his own. Maybe this year, his dreams will come true.
Cameron. Oh my gah, what is it with these cutie pie little twinks that just get me? He’s just so little and adorable and when he finally smiles and is happy, he lights up the world. I just love him. He thinks he’s not bringing anything to the table when Scott spoils him rotten, as he deserves to be, but he doesn’t realize, he’s brought life back into Scott. Scott’s been lonely and finding Cameron has brought so much joy and happiness in his life. It’s just the sweetest little story. All the happiness and magic of the season. Cameron just makes you happy to be alive with his little giggles and sass. He’s so shy and nervous most of the time, that when he relaxes and blossoms, it’s such a beautiful thing to behold.
This series has definitely captured my attention and I love it.
