REVIEW:
Be advised of the Reader advisory. The coalition is at it again and this time it is forced by an asshole looking for a handout that he doesn’t get. There are some rough moments in this book. NO one should ever be forced out without their consent. Especially by blackmail. NO one should be forced to choose between anything. But when you find the one that’s meant to be, it helps. And even if you aren’t meant to go the distance, knowing someone is in your corner who loves you for you, helps weather the roughest storms.
Niall never in his dreams thought he’d get a chance with the hunky teacher, Michael, but while he’s doing his running he notices someone running with him. It’s hunky Michael. And he’s very interested. Which shocked Niall, thinking he was straight. But Michael has a double life, and as they get to know each other, it comes all out in the open, by his lawyer’s latest fling. Not only that, the coalition knows and is trying to force both of them out. Especially Michael. So, Niall has a choice. Stay in the limelight and weather what is thrown at them, or bow out and say no more. Especially since Michael lied to him about his other job. He just has to align his heart and his head and see what comes to fruition.
I would not want to be in Niall’s shoes whatsoever. I am forever happy being in the background, being invisible to those around. So, when it all blows up, I would have a hard time deciding what to do. Love is a wonderful thing that helps, but sometimes that can’t make things better. But then again, I wouldn’t want to be in Michael’s shoes either. Leading a double life that no one knows about. Lying to everyone, including his own boyfriend, about who and what he is. The guilt and shame constantly eating at you. The daily life of having to put on a front of someone you really aren’t. It’s a crappy life to lead. Both of these guys have a lot to think about and a lot to decide. The only thing for sure about this, is the way all this came about. No one should be forced out of anything to do anything. It’s shameful and disrespectful. And so hurtful to those involved. Because the blowback isn’t always pretty.
It’s a good book. There are some rough spots, but the overall story is so good. Full of hope and love and a chance to have what’s important.
