BLURB:
Doctor Daniel Brennan has never recovered after his younger brother’s suicide and has always vowed he will never mate an omega because of it. Even though he would have liked his own family, at forty-seven, he accepts he is probably too old and throws himself into his career as an obstetrician.
Remy always thought his life had ended the day he was officially classed as an omega. Between the bullying, the loneliness, and the fact he thinks he isn’t pretty enough, slim enough, or clever enough to attract an alpha—even if he wanted one—pretty much sealed his fate. The only bright light on his horizon is his new job at the omega clinic.
A lonely omega and an alpha who doesn’t realize how much he wants his own family are forced together when the unthinkable happens, and Remy—who doesn’t even know he is pregnant—goes into labor.
Delivering Remy’s baby might be easy for Daniel. Delivering a Christmas miracle might be something else altogether.
REVIEW:
Well, I think I just found a new favorite character to add to my list of omegas and subs. Although this book is not a sub thing. It’s all alphas and omegas and Remy just bombarded his way in to being one of my favorites. Bless his heart, he’s just had such a rough time and life, but I love that boy because he keeps going. Everyone just loves him because of his kindness and always willing to lend a smile. And he has no clue how much he’s adored.
But Remy has a very low self-esteem. And because of it, he keeps looking in the mirror thinking he’s just fat and that’s why no one likes him. He’s constantly bullied by assholes that live in his building, he lost his father and best friend due to illness, and he’s just about as low as can be. But he keeps trying. But after being beaten one day, he goes to work thinking he’s just hurt and hurt bad. But it’s more than that. He’s about to have a baby and he’s now in panic overload. Because he now knows for sure what he didn’t want to believe. And that was how he got pregnant. His doctor, Daniel, sees something in Remy that’s calling to him, but after an incident in his past, he refuses to mate or marry. But time is running out for Remy and his baby because of the lack of omega rights and if Daniel doesn’t step in, Remy and the baby both may be lost to him forever. But how can he let go and move on?
Remy is one of my new favorites because no matter how hard he is on himself, he keeps getting back up and fighting. That’s why I love omegas as well. They are the ones that have to put up with all the shit and yet they keep fighting and keep pushing forward, no matter what. Sometimes it gets too much for some, and it’s understandable. But Remy keeps trying. Even after the baby is born and he’s determined not to have anything to do with him, Remy can’t help but keep trying. To keep loving, to keep being kind. His heart may break and he may go through hell and back, but he’s still that sweet, adorable man that everyone just loves. He’s perfect in his own way.
I understood where Daniel was coming from, especially after hearing his story. But what I love about Daniel, is that even with the crazy vow he made, he still went into medicine and is still trying to do all he can to fight for omegas and do all he can to help people who are in trouble. It’s a hard situation for both Remy and Daniel, but fate is determined to get through to both of them and make them pull their heads out of their butts and do what’s right.
I love this story. Remy just made this book. It’s a hard story to read for what he’s been through and what he fighting, but the outcome is what makes everything worth it.
