As the lead vocalist for country music’s hottest band, Derek Edwards knows that coming out as gay could mean the end of his career. With his life in the spotlight and too much on the line, Derek won’t let himself think about finding a boyfriend, much less the Daddy he desperately desires.
Sheriff Colt Westfield has better things to do than following Hollywood heartthrobs or the latest singing sensations. So when one drink turns into a mind-blowing one-night stand, he has no idea who he was with. That is, until he’s dragged to a concert and sees his sexy one night stand strutting around on stage.
With a record label, management team, and fans watching, will they be able to find what they both need?
REVIEW:
Derek and Colt
You have to take care of yourself too!
Daddy and Boy play. A first for me. Oh, I have read another story with a Dom/sub kink with characters doing the Daddy/Boy play, but this is my first full length story with this kink. I have yet to learn to understand the dynamics behind it.
Derek is the successful vocalist of one of the hottest country bands performing through their successful tour of the country. But no matter how hype or invested you are in your successful career, there comes a time when you become so tired and stressed that you just need an “off” day or days to just be yourself.
Colt, an out-of-the-closet Sheriff in a town just outside of Nashville, the hub of country music. Just living his life the best way he can. Who would have thought that the one-night stand he had would turn out to be with the closeted (to the public and his management) and famous vocalist of the band Hometown? Surprise, surprise!
As the lead vocalist of a famous band and always in the eye of the public, Derek craves quiet and stress-free times. He wishes for a time when he can just let go. A time when he doesn’t have make big decisions, a time when he can just let someone else be responsible for a time. That’s what Derek is craving for, someone to take care of him once in a while so he can let go and relax.
Colt, a Dom by nature, had almost lost hope in finding a boy who will just submit to his way of caring. Someone who can be a Boy to his Daddy. He never thought he would find it in someone who is a sought-after country singer. Feelings developed quite fast and before they know it, they have been outed, well, Derek has been outed. Navigating through the media hoopla/fallout has nearly brought Derek and his bandmates to their knees but with Colt always there to give support and being able to anticipate Derek’s needs makes everything a little bit easier.
A story of two people who never expected to find the one they were looking for in a one-night stand but learned quickly what they have and accepted it wholeheartedly. A tale of two people who learn to accept what they need and willing to give up control to someone in order to just let go of the stress, fatigue and responsibility.
Ms. Carly Marie’s approach to the story is quite unique and I fully appreciate her intake of this particular trope/kink. I am looking forward to the next installment of this series.
