Eric and Ellison Gant, better known as Sin and Saint, were opposite sides of the same coin. They epitomized the nicknames given to them by their friends in the band Executioners. One thing Sin and Saint did well was fight, and being inseparable meant they had a lot of disagreements, but one thing they agreed on was that Sheriff Camden Pelter was theirs. The older, stoic man didn’t agree, yet they were determined to change his mind.
Camden Pelter had the daunting job of turning the Powers Sheriff Department around. The residents of the Georgia town didn’t have much faith or respect in the deputies serving them. That’s where he came in, and he was determined to do his job. That was easier said than done with two annoying brothers, Sin and Saint, who dogged his every step. No way in hell was he getting mixed up in the chaos that was the Gant Twins. Now if only he could get them to listen and realize they didn’t have a chance of changing his mind.
REVIEW:
LOL! I was wondering how long it was going to take for these boys to finally get Cam to claim them. It took a few years and a few people knocking him in the head a few times, but he finally realized he needed these boys as much as they needed him. They needed their Daddy and he needed his boys.
Cam has been fighting for years what he feels for Sin & Saint, but what finally pushed him over the edge was Saint bringing him lunch and him making Saint eat with him. He realized he needed to take care of these boys. He wanted to take care of these boys. But his job is what scared him the most. Well, that and his age. He was old enough to be their father for real, much less a Daddy. But he knew he couldn’t hold back anymore. He even went to Scary and talked with him and Linus about how to make it work. If that alone didn’t show he wanted these boys, nothing would. But he knew he needed to go slow with them. He knew something was up with Saint. Yes, he was the quieter, shier of the two, but it was more than that. And as much as Sin protected Saint, there was something there for the reason why as well. And when he got to the bottom of it, he really knew he needed to go slow and show these boys they were special and loved. Especially considering in the bedroom, they were giving him a huge gift. But unfortunately, life is catching up with him. Things are work are becoming tenser as they are still unraveling what Thorpe had done, as well as finding the rest of the dirty cops and people behind all this smuggling and trafficking. He had his suspicions about a few of his ex teammates, but nothing concrete. So when it all comes to a head, he’s left shot and in need of help. Sin & Saint don’t hesitate to go train their man. It’s what they’ve been trained by their mom for for years. They knew what to do better than anyone. They got Cam out. It was a tough situation but they did it. And now Cam was shutting them out. For two weeks, they’ve been without each other after being together almost everyday for months. And it takes some head smacking into Cam’s thick head to make him stop acting a fool. But will it be too late for apologies and forgiveness or will the boys come back home?
I get Cam. I do. It’s so hard when in law enforcement. I don’t envy cops partners or any in law enforcement or even the fire dept. They’re lives are at risk every single day and it doesn’t take much for some idiot to snap. But it’s the cases he works on that make his job more dangerous. Even when he took over being Sheriff, yeah, it’s quieter, but trying to unravel all the corruption Thorpe added up, is an overwhelming task. And this job is super dangerous because of the people involved. And that scares him for any partner he might take. It’s also scary knowing he cares for not one, but two men. How can he take care of them right? He definitely doesn’t want to mess it up. And then you have the age difference. It all adds up to scaring the holy bejeebus out of him and I don’t blame him. It’s scary. But as he was told by many, you only get so many chances in life. Do you want to waste more time or finally reach out and take what’s yours? So he had to finally listen and do what his heart was telling him.
Sin & Saint couldn’t have been more happier. They knew Cam was the one for them from day one. But some things in their pasts have made them a bit nervous and Saint more skittish than most. Sin was truly just as skittish but he hid it behind his mouth and tough bravado. And with how Cam treated them, it was exactly what they needed. They needed someone to treat them like they were special and as individuals. Even though they were extremely close and twins, they were still two different people. And Cam made sure he treated them they way they needed while making sure they knew they were his and his alone.
It’s hard when fears and doubts hold you back from what you need, but sometimes it does. Whether it be a job, or something bad, or whatever, when you hold back because of fears, you can often miss out on the best things that can happen to you. It’s a lesson we all have to learn at some point. It’s a scary thing. But as Cam was told so often, we only get so many chances in life. Either grab ahold of what you want or walk away.
