BLURB:
Six months after meeting Cian, the start of the rest of Mitch’s life is so close he can almost taste it. With his high school exams behind him, he can look forward to a long summer, his first Pride festival in Dublin, and, best of all, moving in with Cian when Mitch starts college in September.
Cian can’t wait to accompany Mitch to his first Pride, or for the moment they’ll start sharing a home and their lives. But while the festival is everything they could have hoped for, unexpected news that Cian is about to lose his room in Dublin puts their life together under threat.
Objections to their plans from the home front and a shocking lack of affordable housing in Dublin could shatter Mitch and Cian’s dreams, but perhaps a second miracle is exactly what they need to find their pride of place.
REVIEW:
These poor sweet boys are having a time of it. But I love them. I have grown to just adore them so much. They keep getting up and trying even when life is just beating them to pieces. Even when their own families are seeming like they want to break them up. It’s been another hard journey in this life but it’s helped them to become stronger, and closer. Even when they almost wanted to give up.
Mitch is finally done with exams and ready to move on with life by moving in with Cian. He’s especially happy when he walks off campus to see a surprise. Cian there to see him. But happiness quickly turns to a sourness of epic proportions, when his mother decides to really voice her opinion on he and Cian, and their living together. And Cian’s mother speaks the same thing. It puts a bit of gloom on Mitch’s first Pride, but they decided to have fun anyway. They spend a weekend in bliss and enjoying each other until it was time to go home and Cian’s gotten a note that they are all being evicted. And apartments are too expensive for them. Cian has to move back home, Mitch is working a crappy job and their hopes are dashed. Mitch goes back to the old library where he miraculously met Cian, and prayed for another miracle. But can that be possible or has their luck run out?
I’ve always heard that people just seem to know when they find the one they’re meant to be with. It’s a connection they have. And when people seem to try to break it up or down, depending on how you look at it, it’s discouraging. Especially when it’s your own family. I felt for these boys. They just wanted to start their new lives together and to be supported, not brought down along with everything else. But one thing I love about these two, is they don’t give up on each other. No matter how hard things get, they recognize that it’s each other that gets them through. They hold on to each other, enjoying every minute of time they have together, sparing no free moment. They’ve learned that they have to treasure each amount of time they have and that’s what make it all worthwhile.
I really love these boys. I can’t wait to see how it continues.
