Jordan Hampton:
I was stressed beyond belief. My life felt like it was hitting dead-end after dead-end, and my job was making me want to pull my hair out strand by single strand.
So, when my boyfriend suggests a spontaneous trip to Miami Beach, I jump at the chance.
I had no idea what was really in store for us when we boarded the plane.
Actually, let me correct that: when we boarded the wrong plane. Instead of flying to Miami Beach, we were headed toward Vintage Ridge, North Carolina.
Remember what I was saying about stress? Yeah, multiply that by two lost Canadians and one exceptionally friendly flight attendant and you’d feel what I felt.
This was going to be an interesting vacation.
Brody Winters:
I loved my boyfriend with my entire heart and soul. So when he hurts, I hurt. That’s why I decided to plan an entire vacation focused on rest and relaxation, because I could see my Jordan getting more wound up by the day.
Who could have guessed that our perfect Miami vacation would have started with Jordan accidentally eating an entire edible as we sat on the wrong flight toward some city neither of us could even point to on a map.
All while I had a very special, blue velvet box tucked deep inside my bookbag.
This was not how I wanted to start the trip, but maybe this was exactly what we both needed after all?
REVIEW:
I had absolutely so much fun with this book! There were moments of seriousness and things that needed to be addressed but this book was about fun, reconnecting and trying new things and it was great.
Brody and Jordan needed this vacation. Especially Jordan. His job was stressing him out so bad, he was snapping at Brody and was just so tense and out of whack lately. So they planned a fun filled week in Miami to let go, regroup and reconnect. And to finally breathe. But somehow they got on the wrong flight, and ended up in North Carolina. The funny part started with Jordan eating something they were supposed to share and well…you’ll see. And the hits just kept coming. The flight attendant knew where they were headed and told them of places to go and people to see and Ace and Wilder were two on the list. Well, they set out to start on their journey, and it started with a little boy running in their room followed by a family of kids, parents and grandparents seeing Brody naked from the shower. Then they ended in Ace’s Wild where they spent the whole day enjoying time with Ace and Wilder, only to leave and have their bag bust with their purchases in front of the same family. Lol. And it just keeps getting better. But even with all the funny stuff, there were tense moments. Jordan is sick of his job and it’s time to quit. But he doesn’t want to be a ‘kept’ man. He wants to do his part. Now he has to figure out what that is. And then figure out when to pop the question to the man who has meant everything to him from the moment they’ve met. It’s time to start a new chapter in their lives and he hopes Brody is on board with what he has in mind.
When things get to toxic in your life and it’s destroying all that’s good in it, it’s time to reevaluate and start over. Or something. Because that toxicity will literally destroy everything in its path and you could be left with nothing. This vacation was for Jordan to finally be able to breathe and evaluate what was important in his life. And that was Brody. Hands down. No job was worth what he was doing to Brody by constantly snipping and snapping at him and causing turmoil in their relationship. So they took advantage of this vacation. And they did what they needed to. They had fun, they reconnected, they had some very embarrassing moments, and made new friends. But most of all, they refound out they were each other’s everything and that’s all that mattered. Plus, they had a spicier sex life, thanks to some local boys who had added to their fun adventure.
This book is so good. It’s a light read. A few angsty moments but for the most part it will have you laughing hard and enjoying how true love can really be.
