Jagger’s the son of a bookmaker and fixer. Now, he’s the owner of an exclusive, underground club…and he’s also been put in charge of the family business.
Preston’s the son of a wealthy, powerful, blue-blood Boston family…or he was, until he was disowned for choosing his friendship with Jagger over his family. Ten years later, he’s a Special Forces Operator—and he’s still best friends with Jagger.
But things are about to change, for both men. Because after a long year of no contact, Preston’s coming home to Jagger for the first time since they shared a surprising kiss.
One night, one poker game, and one hand finds Jagger lucky—and skilled enough—to win a chance to fix things with Preston. But what’s at stake is far more than their friendship—it’s everything…and both men are all in to fight for what’s theirs.
REVIEW:
I’m liking this series. I love the push and pull between these friends. The constant angst of circling each other. Knowing they each love the other, but one needing time. And the constant trouble around each other from family and police. It adds to the pull of these two. The need to protect and more. But what this even funnier for me, was meeting Ace & Wilder. That was a hoot and a half.
Preston had pushed and pushed his parents to the point they finally took him out of private school and into a public, where he met the best friend who would change his life forever. Jagger. Preston’s parents were no spring picnic. He often thought they were into some stuff a little shady as well. But it all got worse when he made friends with Jagger. For years, they tried to separate the two, one way or another. From bullies beating on Preston and so much more. But it wasn’t until Preston came back from the military that he found out how deep and far his parents were willing to go. And who all was involved in the betrayals. Unfortunately, it all dealt with secrets being kept and old, old vows of revenge and more. But as they deal with the cops and what all is going on, Preston has finally come to a breaking point. After one session with a Dominatrix, he knew what he really wanted and from who. And it was time to stop running. But someone has set Preston up to be the fall guy in this scheme to get him away from Jagger. Will Jagger believe it and end them or will he believe that Preston would ever turn on him?
I hate parents like Preston’s. Those rich ass snots who think they can buy the world with their money and for anyone to look away from what shady dealings they are doing themselves. Which is exactly what they did to Preston and Jagger. But what I love about these two, is when Jagger claimed Preston as his friend to protect him, they formed a bond no one could break apart. No matter how hard they tried. The only problem that they had, was that Preston was running from what he was really feeling. He was always straight in his mind. But the power of attraction to Jagger was overwhelming. There was no way he could stay around Jagger and not want to do anything and everything with him. So he ran. Right into the military. But coming back, he couldn’t ignore anymore what was between them, no matter how hard they tried. But what made this even better, was Jagger knew. He just also knew he had to be patient and wait for Preston to make up his mind and come to him.
This seems like it’s going to be one hell of a series. I haven’t read book 1, but after meeting Ace and Wilder, I’m sure it’s a hoot. Start on book 1 and have a ball.

Thanks for the great review. I almost skipped this book since it’s a hit or miss with SE Jake’s lately
I haven’t read a lot of SE I will admit, but this one is really good. I just read so many it’s not a slight against them, I just haven’t come across a lot of their books for the blog yet. But like I said, I really enjoyed this one. I hope you do too!
