A young man with a turbulent past meets the only man with a hand steady enough to tame him.
Seamus is a nineteen-year-old falcon shifter with a bad reputation, just ask anyone. Growing up in the insulated all-shifter town of Morningwood, there isn’t a person around who doesn’t remember each of his mistakes and they aren’t afraid to throw them in his face at every chance. He’d leave town entirely if it weren’t for his little brother and his stupid hope that Morningwood is where he belongs.
Leo Thibodeaux recently returned to Morningwood after his father died, leaving the leadership of the rabbit clan up to Leo. Widowed and a single father, Leo tries to do the best he can for his son, his pack, and his town.
When Seamus nearly burns down Morningwood University, he’s given a choice, go to jail or do the repairs under the tutelage of Leo. Seamus expects Leo to treat him like everyone else does, but amazingly, while Leo does command respect, he doesn’t look down his nose at Seamus. It doesn’t take long for Seamus to realize that Leo isn’t at all like the others. He makes Seamus feel protected, like he can turn his life around, he can be a friend, a better brother, a mate.
Leo recognizes that the timing isn’t ideal. He was meant to mentor Seamus, but there is nothing he can do when the beast inside him recognizes his mate. They agree to keep their relationship behind closed doors, at least until the repairs can be done, but even that comes with its own risk.
Meanwhile, there’s a spooky mystery in Morningwood. Someone—or something—is digging up old bones from the local cemetery and leaving them around town. It sounds like a stunt Seamus might have pulled, but this time he’s innocent. But as his past deeds place him under suspicion, Seamus knows the true culprit must be found, or he’ll lose everything.
Pumpkin Cream Pie is the seventh book in the Welcome to Morningwood series. It can absolutely be read as a standalone for total enjoyment and features an age gap romance, a new and steamy way to eat pumpkin cream pie, themes of family and redemption as well as all the sexy, sultry, fun you expect from Morningwood!

REVIEW:
Oh, this story was so good but made did it make me sad. When life just keeps taking you down, you lose a parent and you feel like you have to step in to that role. Help take care of your little brother. But somewhere along the way, you can’t handle all the pressure and you end up doing things you never thought you would. Like pushing drugs to the wrong people. Or pushing them period. And now everyone looks at you like you’re a leper or a leech on society. You’re the pariah. The bad guy, the outcast. And for once, you wish someone would look at you like you mattered.
Seamus was furious. No one made his brother cry. NO ONE. He would get his revenge. He had a gas can, alcohol and a few joints to get this party started. This university would burn for hurting his brother. He started the fire, but before it could burn down, the fire department put it out and he was caught. For one more thing he had done wrong. Now his mother was bailing him out again and the looks on everyone’s faces were pity for her and contempt for him. But the sheriff worked something out. He would fix the damage with the rabbit clan, or the head of the clan, Leo. That doesn’t mean there wouldn’t be another mark against him or anything but he would make it up. But the desire between Leo and Seamus were making things harder, to the point they finally started acting on things. But Seamus was scared to admit, he was scared. He ex had done a number on him. Not physically, but emotionally and mentally. And it left its mark. Leo had to constantly reassure him. But during all this, another thing was happening. Someone was digging up graves and snatching the bones, putting them in weird spots. And when it came after Seamus, he panicked and raced for Leo. But of course, when Leo went to investigate, no one was there and the bones this time were very personal. And Leo treated Seamus the way everyone else did. He didn’t believe him and made him feel lower than dirt. So Seamus took off, thinking it would be better on everyone else. And there may be no making it up.
Once you get a bad rep for something, it seems like no one ever forgets. Or lets you forget. You can’t ever make things right or start over or anything because everyone is determined to rub in your face all the bad you’ve ever done. But when the one person you finally fully trust to have your back, turns on you as well, nothing will ever make that right. Or that’s at least how it feels. It feels like the worst betrayal ever. And Seamus was in over his head. His own mate even turned on him over something he didn’t even do. My heart broke for the man. It was one thing after another. He finally hoped he had found the one man who could change the future for him and with him, but how can he trust him again?
But I felt for Leo a bit too. Although I wanted to shake him first. But once he realized his mistake, he tried so hard to make it up. But when Seamus took off, it was hard to do that. He was going crazy trying to find him and bring him home and make him feel like he should have to begin with.
So yeah, this one was a toughie. A good one for sure, but it will cause you to shed a few tears.
