Billy and the Beast…a spirited gay man meets the beast just as gorgeous and insane as he is.
Billy has devoted every moment in the last two months searching for his best friends, Tannish and Phoenix. Gone, without a trace, he tracks down every loose end, coming up empty-handed until he bumps into Vrak, a gorgeously grumpy man who says he knows where Billy’s friends are. Except, they aren’t hurt, they are together and don’t need rescuing. Sad he was left behind, Billy seeks comfort, spending a night he won’t forget in Vrak’s arms. But when morning comes, Billy discovers the world is not how he thought.
Vrak is an alien, his friends were in space and now, despite it being impossible, Billy is pregnant.
Vrak suffered through watching his crewmates find their perfect pairs, vowing he would never suffer the same fate. But, when the undeniably sexy, firecracker of a young man, Billy, waltzes into his life, he can’t think straight. Normally, Vrak is the wild one of the group, but he’s nothing compared to Billy. He leaps first, without question, every time.
Together, the crew uncovers a large conspiracy. The people of Vrak’s homeworld are sterile, due to their government’s—the AkarFed’s—meddling. While the AkarFed scrambles for a solution they look to Earth, kidnapping and testing young men in the process. And as Billy’s pregnancy progresses faster than it should, Vrak and the crew begin to worry that there is more going on than even they know.
Quickly, Vrak realized Billy is the gift he never thought he’d get, but if he doesn’t figure out what the AkarFed is up to, and fast, Billy might not be his gift for long.
CLIP is the third book in the Akar Chronicles and may be read as a standalone.
REVIEW:
*snorts* So, I want to be Billy in another life. Although, I think the older I get the more I’m like him already. He takes no shit off anyone, even though he’s such a little guy. And I think this has become my favorite book of the series so far. He and Vrak just bounce off each other with sass and sarcasm. And it is funny as hell.
The bad part is, Billy has been working himself into the ground trying to find Phi and Tannish. Just when he thinks he has a lead, it turns out to be a bust. But a drug dealing skuzzball, Dante has said he has found someone with information. All Billy has to do is come to the party Dante is hosting in the club after he’s done with work. Billy wants no part of it, but he knows he has to know this information. If he only knew how deep he was in to things already. But he’s about to find out. He’s felt he’s being watched all night at the club and his watcher finally makes an appearance making Billy drool. But he can’t stand around all night ogling. He has a job to do and information to get. But what Billy doesn’t know, is this mohawked stranger has all the information he needs. Vrak is just scared to tell him in public because his friends said he can be a bit dramatic. But Billy ends up in trouble at the end of his shift. And Vrak has to help get him to safety. And explain everything. But even in Billy’s relief, he’s angry. He was just left behind with no word from anyone and he’s beyond pissed. Vrak tried to explain they had no way to do so but Billy doesn’t believe it. But anger turns to passion and they go at it like wild animals. And Billy gets a surprise the next morning when he had gifts he never had before and knows how to use them well. They end up back at the ship, Billy ends up pregnant, and delivering in days. On top of this, men are being abducted everywhere around the club and it’s time to get to the bottom of everything. They get most of it settled, until Gregor, Billy’s old boss and a fed of Akar, kidnaps Billy’s son. Billy goes to rescue him and the ship explodes. Vrak is wrought with grief, determined there has to be some part of Billy and his son somewhere. He hopes.
Man, do I love Billy lol. He goes toe to toe with everyone. Especially Phi and Tannish when he sees them. But it’s not just them. He has something to say to everyone and they get an earful. Vrak, watching all this, sits back and tries not to laugh but he can’t help it. His spitfire has a temper and a mouth and isn’t afraid to use either one. But what Vrak sees that others don’t, is how affected Billy really is. He’s hurt, scared to death, angry and uses all that huff to block others from seeing how upset he really is. And it makes Vrak love him even more. What’s funny about all this even more, Vrak really wanted no part of the whole perfect pair thing. He really didn’t. And after meeting Billy and hearing that mouth before they got to the sex part, he almost wanted to throttle Billy. He still does to a point, but what he does more than ever, is admire and respect the man. He knows Billy has had a hard time and he is nothing but patient with him. Well, most of the time. Lol. They really are a matched set. Volatile, sassy and sarcastic.
I’m hoping there’s going to be another story and that it’s about Wren. I really love that guy.
