Welcome to Twirled World Ink where the crazies run the asylum.
When someone was asked to describe crazy, if they knew Lee “Lucky” Trenton they’d point at him. Accident prone and without a filter of any kind to tell him to shut up before he says something inappropriate he’s no one’s idea of a perfect partner. Growing up with parents who subscribed to a philosophy of Radical Honesty Lucky and his siblings were doomed from the womb. Lucky found a home away from home at Twirled World Ink, but he didn’t just find a place to belong. He’d found Priest.
Matthew “Priest” Beall ran away from his judgmental family the second he’d earned the money. He’d come in search of Gib Phelps a legend in the tattoo industry. If you wanted to learn the craft, then Gib was the man to beg an apprenticeship with, and he’d begged. Priest might have left the violence of his past behind, but when he closed his eyes it came back to torture him. The only place he felt safe was when his best friend Lucky let him sleep in his arms. He wanted more, but he didn’t think he deserved it.
Priest left his family behind without regret only to find a new one with the crew of Twirled World and the super weird Trenton family. Could he grab onto his new life or would the memories of the past ruin the happiness he’d gained?
Author’s Note: Although this is part of a series each book is stand alone and every book deals with a separate couple.

REVIEW:
I swear by all that I am, I’m so in love with J.M. Dabney for these series. Oh my gah. Each book gets better by the minute and I can’t wait to year into the next book. Each book may have violence or whatever. It happens when you have a hunch of badass bikers. But the Teddy bears underneath are what just make it all worthwhile. Their personalities, their flaws, their strengths, even their crazy ass families, make these books perfect in every way and I am so in love with all these guys.
Before you read this one though, if you haven’t already, be forewarned, it deals with Priest’s past and in it is severe abuse and rape, by one or multiple people. Beatings and all sorts of crap. It’s not a pretty picture, but if you can handle it, it’s worth it in the end.
From the moment Priest walked in the door of Twirled Ink, Lucky knew the man was his. But he also knew from the way Priest was acting, it would take some time. There was a past there and it became evident especially at night when he would pace from not being able to sleep from the nightmares that plagued him. When Lucky knew he could handle being touched by him, he started letting Priest sleep with him at night when he needed, so the man could feel safe and secure. Lucky didn’t know his past yet, but he figured out some. It wasn’t until Lucky’s mom, Lily ambushed Priest, that they all found out and Lucky and his siblings barged through the door to get to Priest. To let him know it wasn’t his fault. He wasn’t broken. He wasn’t anything but perfect to Lucky and his crazy family. But the past has now caught up to Priest. When his mother died, who was a neglectful abusive bitch herself, his father and the lawyer more or less !are him be there for it. Lucky tried to get him to stay home but Priest went anyway. And there his was. Telling Lucky Priest needed a heavy hand to keep him in line. Lucky decked the man (hallelujah!) but it scared Priest and all of it set him back. Especially when he showed up and tried to take off with Priest and then they found out he tried to kill Lucky. With all this swimming in Priest’s head, he may not be able to come back out of this, especially without Lucky. But how can Lucky still love him when it’s his fault his ex showed up?
Over the last three books, I knew Priest had been abused at some point. I didn’t know the extent until this one but let me tell you, it was a cross between bawling like a baby for that man and wanting to be like Scary and Tank and wanting to know where to stash the body parts. Priest is one of the sweetest, most beautiful people, who was just looking for love. Love that had long been denied him from his own family. And once you’re in an abusive relationship, it’s sometimes hard to get back out. It usually takes something drastic or sometimes death for it to be over. Thank goodness, Priest got out.
As far as Lucky, that man. *Sigh*. I know with his brutal honesty and his mouth make people want to murder him sometimes….well most of the time. That and his crazy ass family (who btw are a damn hoot that will have you peeing your pants with laughter. OMG.). But when Lucky is with Priest, it’s different. Sure he’s the same for the most part, but he knows how to read Priest’s moods and tells and he knows how to get him to relax and breathe and be ok. He is patient and loving and does nothing to make Priest feel off balance or pressured. Or tries not too. This book gets a bit more intense because of the past people. He’s even become a celibate man. No one is it for him but Priest and anyone else would make him feel like he was cheating. And I just feel more in love with him too.
These two were destined. It was inevitable. Everyone knew they were together but no one pressured Priest into saying. He had to be the one to say yes or no. Sure they all teased, but it was in good fun. Lucky was setting everything up for if Priest said yes eventually, but even if he never did, he still wanted Priest to have the best life possible. To know that he was cared for, loved and cherished for the man he is. Regardless of his past.
Another perfect book.
