Finch Jarsdel had recently retired from England’s infamous SAS. Had he known he’d sit in his flat all day binge watching the telly, he might never have left his special forces unit, even if his heart had no longer been in it. When he received a phone call to chase down Bigfoot, he thought the guy was touched in the head. But with nothing else to do, Finch headed to a small town in North Carolina called Cedar Falls.
Warning:Buckle up for the ride of your life as Jesse celebrates the New Year as Mayor, Finch and Tobias fall in love, and Bigfoot takes out the gunmen intent on terrorizing the town.
REVIEW:
So good!! And I’m so sad. One more book. But this was so good. And now that Jesse is mayor, it’s getting a lot more interesting lol.
Finch was bored out of his mind, but feeling sorry for himself. Since getting injured and such in an op, he’s been floating along. So when he got a call from Jesse about leading Bigfoot hunts, he thought Jesse was out of his mind. But he was bored so went to find out what was up. After being around Jesse for a bit of time, he knew Jesse was nuts lol. That this man insists there’s a Bigfoot is killing him. But what got him more than anything was gorgeous young man who came into the coffee shop with Jesse. Who he learned was named Tobias. Something called Toby to him. And he knew the man needed shaken up a bit. But he didn’t realize how gentle he needed to be about it until he learned a few things that did not make him happy. He vowed to make sure Toby knew he was loved and cherished. But on New Year’s Eve, robbers decided to spoil the fun and try to rob the money being raised for lost children. Finch knows he has to help take these people down along with the security, but with one person already being shot and and several more injured or dead, he basically has to perform a suicide trick to stop some of this. The question is, will he make it out alive before he gets to tell Toby he loves him?
Tobias is one sweet guy. He’s been through absolute hell in his life, with his step family. But he’s finally made it on his own, with his own shop and his own apartment and he finally feels free. And with little things going on, he finally feels like he’s part of a family and the community. He’s super shy, so it’s taking a while but he’s getting there. And knowing Finch has his back is helping a lot. It’s given him a boost of confidence to help him and now he’s standing up to people he never thought he would. Finch is just the thing Tobias needed. And Tobias was a breath of fresh air for Finch. A new life.
I’m so sad it’s almost over, but this series has been an absolute blast. It’s had it’s up and downs. Abuse is never something to take lightly, in any form. And what a lot of these guys have been through has been horrifying. But through love, patience and friends, they’ve all found their ways in ways they never thought possible. They have hope and a new life and finally a chance to breathe and feel like they belong.
