Davis ~ Life hasn’t been the same since Conrad and I lost our boyfriend Eric in a tragic accident. We’ve started looking for a third again, but the men we’ve met are wanting a one-time experience. It’s all just fun to them, but this is our lifestyle, and we want another man to love.
Conrad ~ I’m missing our man more than words can say, but that isn’t the only problem. I’d never told my family I was in a triad, so when they came to the funeral and treated Davis like a close friend, without knowing the depth of his sorrow, it gutted me. He deserves better than that. As hopeful as I am we’ll meet someone on this cruise, I’m not sure I’m ready to live honestly.
Shane ~ When my friends convince me to splurge and treat myself for a college graduation present, I wasn’t sure a singles cruise was the way to go. What are the chances that the only two men I’m interested in now that I’m here are looking for a third, or that one of them is my best friend’s older brother? But maybe a few days of living the fantasy won’t hurt anyone.
Fun in the sun is easy, but what happens when three men go back to real life? Lucky for Conrad and Shane, Davis has his eye on the prize and he’s not backing down.
REVIEW:
I absolutely adored this book. It was heartbreaking at first. A trio losing one of them in an accident. It takes time and grief, but it gave me hope they were finally ready to try again. What’s funny is who they meet up with in this cruise and how it turns out.
Shane has been Conrad’s brother Creed’s best friends for a lot of years. Ever since Shane’s family treated him like shit, Conrad’s family took him in like he was one of their own. Conrad was his bodyguard, his friend as well and someone he could share his secret with. Shane was gay. Conrad was too, but no one dared mess with him. And after a bullying incident, no one messed with Shane either. But the years have went by and it’s been a bit since Conrad has seen Shane. Partially because he was hiding his trio relationship. He was afraid of what his family would think and plus it would have been hard on the other two because of their families. After Conrad and Davis lost Erik, they needed time to grieve but decided to go on this cruise together and see if maybe they could find their third again. But what Conrad found was Shane and all the old feelings he tried to deny came rushing forward. And Davis was immediately smitten. Not knowing they were together at first, Shane flirted with Davis so much and Davis liked him even more. When the truth of their relationship comes to light, Shane has a lot to take in, but decides he wants to try it. And Conrad no longer wants to hide anyone. He’s ashamed he did for so long. But now they’re all worried on how it’s going to go over with everyone and if they can make it through.
I love Shane and Conrad. They are so adorable. Both had crushes on each other in school and they both just kept it to themselves. I understood Conrad’s reasoning though. To him, age difference is not a big deal but when you’re in high school it’s a bit more noticeable…if that’s the right word. So he was a bit nervous. But it was still sweet. And now it’s funny because Conrad is still trying to be the bodyguard when Shane’s a grown man and it’s so obvious why. He crush is back in full force and Davis is having a ball watching it unfold. Plus, Davis’s own interest in Shane is right there with Conrad but he’s just more mellow about it lol.
It’s a sweet little story. I enjoyed it so much. It takes a lot to make a two person relationship, but even more so for three or more. Lots of trust and being on the same page. And these guys just blended like it was meant to be all along.
