Detective Austin Michaels didn’t think life could get any better after he was accepted into the most notorious narcotics task force on the East Coast, headed up by two of the baddest Lieutenants with the Atlanta Police Department – Cashel Godfrey and Leonidis Day.
Michaels knew he would fit right in as the team’s sniper, having received his fair share of commendations for marksmanship. He was just as badass as the rest of the twenty brothers that made up their team. But when Michaels lets their prime suspect get away from a huge bust with over a quarter of a million dollars in drugs, he’s willing to do whatever it takes to make it right.
Left with no other options, God chooses to bring in outside help, calling on his long-time friend and bounty hunter, Judge Josephson.
Judge was considered one of the best trackers during his enlistment in the United States Marine Corps. After retiring, he used those skills to become one of the most sought out fugitive trackers in the country. When Judge gets a call from his old friend needing his help, he quickly tells God, yes.
Contains mature themes.
REVIEW:
In this installment of the Nothing Special series, we meet Judge Josephson who is as the blurb tells you is one of the best trackers in the country and he truly lives up to the hype. I liked Judge…his snark and his attitude as well as the leather really does it for me. I have to say that Judge is a good man…a really good man who makes some mistakes in his life…who hasn’t? I really liked seeing Judge around his father and Linda. I liked that you see that he’s this really caring man who Loves his father and Linda. He’s sad that his father is sick and there’s nothing that he can do about it. What I really like is how much Judge loves Book. I just love the hell out of dogs and Book is one of my faves. Not too much screen time…but still…made me fall in love a bit.
Michaels, well…we met him in Here Comes Trouble and he’s only gotten sexier. I have to say that Michaels is just one sexy man who has an issue with his feelings…but he’s a scrapper and I really like that about him. He’s not afraid to get in there and kick some ass if/when needed. I have to say that Michaels comes out swinging and I was right there with him for the ride. I liked that Michaels comes into his own in this story. That we get to know more about him and see who this man is. We see why he’s angry and hostile and that he’s a smartass as well. I like that he has to grow a bit and learn that not everything needs to be handled with his fists.
I really love that A.E. doesn’t make all of her characters in their 20’s and 30’s. Some are older than that and shows that they need some love too. I will say that this is one very sexy, intense, dirty-talkging good time. Whew…A.E. really brings it in this story and it was fun to watch these two men, who are set in their ways and not really even looking for anything to fall for each other. To see them realize that they have these really intense feelings for each other…it was great to see.
I have to say that the secondary characters…the other guys from the team, God, Day, Syn (MY LOVE), Ruxs, Green and Ronowski. I Love, Love, Love these guys. I like that we keep getting to see them and see how their lives are shaping up. When the guys come for Michaels and Switch ( the bounty) that scene…yeah…it was wow.
Aiden Snow…Narrator…sexy voiced man in my ear…not only do I love the story…but his voice…yeah…it’s nice and mellow and so damn sexy. I have to say that Aiden does such a great job narrating these stories that he HAS to do ALL of A.E.’s books. Aiden…I need more from you.
Overall, this audiobook is another addition to the Nothing Special Series Audiobooks. Get it and be prepared to enjoy the ride.
