Interview with Elizabeth Monvey
Jacey Holbrand and Elizabeth Monvey are happy to present the second book – Future, Betrayed – in the Project Mars series they’ve developed. They’ve been having fun creating a futuristic world in which humans are living and loving on Earth and on Mars while fighting to survive the outrageous ministrations of rogue scientists in an agency called Sector. They have four books so far in the works in the series. Book one – Future, Broken – is available through eTailers. Books three and four, as of this writing, are works in progress. But for now, here’s an interview with author Elizabeth Monvey.
- Q) Is your book part of a series? If so, can you tell us about it?
Yes, it’s part of the Project Mars series by myself and Jacey Holbrand. We came up with this concept one day during a brainstorming session at a local coffee house. Jacey took point on the first book (Future, Broken) and I did the second book.
- Q) What was the hardest or easiest scene to write?
One of the easiest scenes to write was a fight scene that Dain has while on the transport ship to Mars. Earlier that day at work my boss really made me angry so I needed to vent. I came up with the fight scene as a way to get my anger out and on paper.
- Q) Do you write in a linear fashion or do you jump from scene to scene and then go back and “fill in the blanks”?
Most of the time I write in a very linear fashion, but sometimes I have an idea further down my story’s time line and will write it out.
- Q) What are your upcoming projects?
Jacey and I are working on book 3 in the Project Mars series, and she’s even started blocking out book 4. As for me, I have a new upcoming book in the My Boyfriend Is… series titled “My Incubus Boyfriend”.

Actually, Trix, this story has no aliens. They’re all human caught up in a lot of scientific intrigue between Earth and Mars. 🙂 Perhaps one day Elizabeth and I will do a sci-fi alien story since we enjoy working together. Thank you for stopping by!
