BLURB:
Lee, Jones, and Ginger deal with dangerous situations and mounting stress daily working for the most powerful assassin organization in the world. All of those things seem like a walk in the park compared to the friction that sparks between them. When all three are assigned to the same job, ignoring the heat from the inferno of desire becomes impossible.
Lee is a master at deciphering codes, skilled in hacking complicated systems, and never misses a target, even from over fifty miles away. His feelings for Jones and Ginger, however, may be the first code he’s unable to crack.
Jones deals in absolutes, but the road to his past is paved with bodies and regrets. Getting Lee to acknowledge the pull they both feel toward Ginger may be the hardest mission he’s ever had to face.
Ginger struggles to cope with the overwhelming guilt that accompanies this new job. Falling for these hired killers will be a risk—one that could wind up with him losing in the end or gaining everything he’s ever wanted.
As the three work together to take down a human trafficking ring—and save a desperate soul—time is of the essence. Their lives are on the line as mysteries unfold and unexpected encounters throw them off course. Will Lee, Jones, and Ginger let doubts come between them, distracting them from their mission and blocking any hope of love? Or can they face the toughest challenge of their lives and become…a triple threat?
REVIEW by Cindy
Lee and Jones are stone-cold when it comes to their jobs. Black is a strict task-master and letting him down is not an option.
Ginger? Well he’s a little softer…and sweeter…and he could totally be what’s missing from Lee and Jones relationship. They need something to smooth out the rough edges and remind them that life doesn’t always have to be harsh.
I’ve been enjoying the stories in this series but this one left me a little cold. They are starting to feel a little bit repetitive to me, the same things keep happening and it’s losing it’s appeal.
This is one of the problems I have with series. It’s tempting to keep them going because if you can get your fans invested, the will tend to one-click the next one in the series and they can be money makers.
The premise of this story didn’t really catch me, but the dynamic between the three men involved did. Ginger evolves a lot in this story, although he never loses his sweetness and that’s the part that brings Lee and Jones together. As always, the sex is hot and the action is hotter so there’s no problem there.
However, the continuing dragging out of Poe’s storyline is starting to get on my nerves and I’m more than ready for that to be wrapped up.
It is good to see the guys from the first five stories popping up and I love the glimpses we get into their happily-ever-after. It always makes me smile to be reminded of the ones who things have worked out for.
I will be tuning in to book 7 because I’m too invested in finding out what it’s all been all about in Havens Hart and I enjoy this author’s writing style very much. Let’s hope book 7 will make it all worth while.

REVIEW by Cheryl
This book is part of the Haven Hart series, and I have to say for the first time that I don’t think this can be entirely a standalone. There are too many links to the previous books and a lot of the previous characters have small but key roles. This is not, however, a chore because the previous books are well worth reading. Each book has its own flavour and focusses on different characters.
The books are set in Haven Hart, a fictional city where, it would appear, organized crime rules the roost. In the beginning of the series, we met Christopher Manos, head of a mafia-like organization involved in violent crime. Given that he and the men who worked for him, were the heroes of the first three books you can imagine they were violent and filled with action. This much is true, but they were also filled with a tenderness and humour one would not expect to find in books covering those kinds of men. In many ways the author shows us the human side of organized crime.
In particular, Christopher’s husband, Snow is a fantastic character who really pulls you in with his innocence rather than his hard edge. Through the books, we find that the other halves of the “villains” have all been much gentler and “nicer” characters who have, surprisingly, ended up as the ones who lead the hard men around by the heart strings.
In Book Three, we meet Black, the mysterious leader of a group of deadly assassins. Black is very much a bit part actor, helping Christopher when Snow’s life is in danger. Black appears to be even harder edged and more ruthless than Christopher. He is not a man to mess with and has the kind of hard edge you only find on an assassin’s knife. However, his soft side is brought out by his own love interest, Quinn.
This book is also focussed on Black’s operation and involved three of his best assassins—Jones, the hard man, Lee the computer expert and Ginger the…er…trainee. The three men are trying to infiltrate a sex trafficking ring to save Ginger’s brother, Joey. In order to do so, they have had themselves invited to a party, where their “Purchase” will be presented to them along with others who have made the same deal with the devil. The location of the party is a closely guarded secret and they are led across the country to a series of locations they travel to in a hi tech RV.
As with the other books, this one is not perfect. There are some sketchy parts where the story doesn’t flow well, for various reasons. Sometimes the dialogue gets a little out of kilter and in some spots the structure can be clunky. Not the best way to get it across, but the important thing is that it does nothing to detract from the overall worth of the story.
I have to admit that this is not my favourite of the six books, but that is because I have been so much in love with some of the others. I adore Snow and the books in which he does not appear are all starting at a disadvantage. Whilst these characters are all well rounded and three dimensional, each with their strengths and weaknesses, they all suffer from the fact that they simply aren’t Snow. That’s probably the worst thing I can say about them, because they do worm their way into your hearts in the way well written characters tend to do. The very fact that they are all so very much individuals with very different voices is impressive in itself when the three of them entirely share the space for the vast majority of the book. It’s never easy to keep three unique voices separated when they are the only ones speaking for most of the time.
There is a sense of excitement about the build up, and whilst I enjoyed the increasing tension among the three MC’s I have to admit it sometimes fell a little flat in their encounters with the “bad guys”. I also felt the party at the end was slightly anticlimactic, but that’s not to say it wasn’t exciting or interesting.
The author has drawn together three unique men, in the setting of a highly original adventure and woven it all together very well. Criticisms aside, it was hard to find anything much to complain about and whilst this was not my favourite of the six, it was more than enough to keep my interest high for the seventh and last, which I have been waiting for in great excitement for some time. For me, the highlight of this book was when Poe turned up and we got to see more of him than we ever had before. Although he has only been very much a cameo appearance in all the books he is by far and away my favourite character. He intrigues me and my heart picks up on ever page on which he is features. He is an enigma, so unique and in such a thrilling position that I could read a birthday card with his name on it and get excited.
Read these books, and get excited for the seventh.
