REVIEW:
Sometimes people’s prejudices prevent a person’s ability to be oneself. It can sometimes destroy a person. Nowadays, a lot of people are trying to change that but it will take some time before we can truly eliminate all these preconceived notions that has been instilled in us.
Cameron Wano is an out and proud man and no-nonsense ER Charge Nurse. Not out and so far in the closet is Reuben Taylor , a strong contender for a coveted spot in the world’s greatest rugby team. How can they possibly have something together? It took a long time for Cam to be comfortable in his own skin, burned by someone in his past, but he refuses to go back in again, not for anyone. Reuben, an up and coming star in the sports of rugby, decides not to come out anytime soon for more reasons than just being in a testosterone-filled sport. Quite impossible to fathom how they can do it, right?
But meeting the person meant for you no matter how much you fight it is futile when the heart is involved. This is a tale of how two lovers who against all odds overcame prejudices, bigotry, homophobia and came out determined to show people that they are who they are and they are not ashamed of it. Getting to that point however has them going through some of the most emotional life trials they have ever been in. Relationships are hard enough to make stronger and more stable without the added issues of homophobia, bigotry, peer and family pressure.
We do make our own life choices but we cannot expect everyone to agree with it, the most important thing to consider is what you want and if you are happy with the decision you made. If you are happy then you have made the right decision for you and for your loved ones. I love how this story has it all to make it more realistic and I am thankful to Jay Hogan for incorporating all this in it. Congratulations!
