Three men, one love—and a passion he only ever dreamed of.
Karel Novak is content with his busy job in hotel refurbishment, enjoying the social scene in Soho, London and the company of new friends he met through working at With A Kick. All he’s missing is a special man in his life. Or maybe two.
His first meeting with the mercurial pole dancer Leroy and his socially anxious partner Griff isn’t impressive, but none of them can ignore the sexual spark that flares between the three men.
Their relationship builds in steps of passion, frustration, and finally love. Both Leroy and Griff have complex issues in their lives to work through, and at first Karel brings a new dynamic that both settles and supports them.
But although he loves his men, Karel gradually realises the issues are still present. His partners struggle with living individually as well as together. His heartfelt wish is for them to create a lasting bond as a trio—but that means putting others first, all too often.
And will that mean sacrificing his own joy and dreams?
#9 of the With A Kick series, but a totally standalone romance.
REVIEW:
I liked this book, overall, but I’ve got to say Leroy and Griff sometimes just made me want to smack them. They just seem so overly dramatic at times. Now I do get they have pasts and the present is hard as well, but sometimes it’s a bit much.
Karel was enamored of Leroy from the first time he saw him on stage dancing. He’s so graceful and moves so beautifully, it leaves Karel wanting more. So when Griff runs into him and announces he wants to fuck but that Leroy is his as well, Karel is immediately disappointed. But Leroy and Griff aren’t giving up. They want Karel in their bed and their lives. But the more time they spend together, the more things seem strained with Leroy and Griff. Their issues and what they are dealing with is causing them to give up their hopes and dreams and it’s causing a strain. A huge one. To the point, Karel wonders if he needs to leave. And if these three don’t figure out how to fix the mess they’re in, it’s going to be over for real.
Everyone comes to a relationship with baggage. Life just sucks most of the time. But when all the baggage keeps everyone at toxic levels, it’s not a fun thing anymore. Karel never expected to find two men who wanted him, much less one. So when these two come after him, he’s skeptical at first. But he eventually learns this is something he really wants. He wants these men with a passion. But the baggage is just becoming too much and Karel doesn’t know what to do. But he’s quickly learning he has to be the rock for these two. Although he doesn’t always want to be. They have to learn communication and trust and that they can get through it one step at a time.
It’s a good book. Like i said i have few issues but overall, it’s good. I want to go back and read the others now.
