RELEASE DATE: August 2, 2019
BLURB:
“I’ve never thought of calling a man Daddy before, but I can’t think of a word that fits Vale better. He’s my Daddy, and I’m his pup.”
Broken and bruised, there’s nothing I won’t do to protect Adrian. I picked him up and made him whole before, and I’ll do it again. Adrian is a sweet pup with a smile full of sunshine and a heart made for love. A sweet pup needs a gentle hand, and that’s exactly what I intend to give him.
There’s nothing quite like slipping an expensive pair of high heels onto Adrian’s feet and watching him light up. If he wants a fairytale, I’ll happily be his Prince Charming.
*** Heel is the second book in the Working Out the Kinks series but can be read as a stand-alone. This book contains a scene of domestic violence. This book also contains an adorable man who loves to be a puppy, fabulous high heels, and the happily ever after Adrian deserves.
REVIEW:
Adrian and Vale are old friends. Vale rescued Adrian once before, but convinced himself that the young man was too young to be anything more than a friend. But it hasn’t stopped them from thinking about each other. When Adrian falls into hard times once more, it’s up to Vale to help him out of it again. But maybe things can be different this time.
I loved this story. Adrian is sweet and adorable. His giving nature makes him so easy to love, but as often happens, it also makes him easy to take advantage of. And Nathan, Adrian’s boyfriend, definitely does. I really wanted to punch him in the face.
Vale has no problem seeing the best in Adrian and his fierce protectiveness towards the young man makes him near and dear to my heart.
Adrian’s friends are protective as well and it’s nice to see them do what they can to stick up for him and take care of him without being overbearing.
The best part of this book is the time that both men spend arguing with themselves over whether or not the other man is truly interested in him. The back and forth is fun to read and while sometimes it gets over done, in this case it is just about perfect.
There’s an innate sweetness about this novel, but there’s a lot of strength too. Watching as Adrian finds his way to himself with the help of Vale and his friends kept me glue to my computer as I read. Adrian never comes off as weak or needy, just a little lost and his own strength shines through in the end.
I spent most of this book smiling and if you’re looking for something to brighten your day, I can absolutely recommend Heel. I will be on the lookout for the first book in this series and I hope there will be more to come.
