REVIEW:
I stumbled on this book recently. I had no idea the author had released another in the series. I’ve been reading the series since it sprang off from the original series, and I’ve got to say Sean Kennedy never fails to drag me into a story and keep me there until the last page has flipped on my kindle.
I was really happy that Will got his story. This time we’re looking at life from Will’s point of view and discover the reasons for all the tension over the years between Micah Johnson and Will Deanes. We already knew that Will was Micah’s bully in high school and that they then became best friends, but Will has always had feelings from Micah that went far beyond friendship. Can he risk it all to admit that he is love with his best friend? If he does will it destroy their friendship?
Will is also still dealing with the pain and scarring of the horrific accident that robbed him of own football career. He shows through this story though that he has moved past it, and is very happy working for GetOut, the organization where he and Micah and their friend Emma were part of the original class.
I enjoyed this one. I really liked Will’s character, and of course I enjoyed catching up with all the other characters we’ve met along the way. It wasn’t heavy. It wasn’t fluff. It was somewhere in the middle. The perfect read for my mood today. I highly recommend this book and the entire series, as well as the author’s previous series Tigers and Devils from which the Get Out series sprung. I’m only sad to say that this one kind of read like the end of the story. I hope not, because I really like the world Mr. Kennedy created.
