REVIEW:
Man, this series keeps going in a direction I never quite expect. But it’s a good thing. I love it. People that have gone missing in the other books, or those we thought dead, are held prisoner, and the war between the ‘good and bad’ demons is at an all time high.
Tresser, son of the man who runs and owns the Tresser Corporation, is on a mission, like others, to rid the world of the demons popping up everywhere. He’s more or less blackmailed a psychic and medium to help him in his quests and just happened to run up on a high demon, but one of the good ones. Nathan has been sent to rid the world of the bad demons himself, and ends up forming a weird alliance with Tresser, a teacher looking for his fiancee (who is a prisoner in hell), and a messenger who has secretly trained as a warrior. This ragtag team finds where all this has started and how and it all leads back to Adam’s shop and a ghost that lives with Cassie, who’s would was taken in book one. Yep, everything and everybody is about to reconnect in a weird way. Because of the sacrifice of Tresser and of Nathan’s powers. But the sacrifice of Tresser, means just that. He’s gone. And Nathan’s grief and guilt can’t seem to let go.
It’s weird the little group that forms to take on the bad demons. The two demons obviously know what they’re doing, Tressler pretty much does himself, but a kindergarten teacher. A weird mix. But when the groups expands to include a lot of past characters, it all starts coming together. The problem is, since Nathan is considered a weapon, it doesn’t start out quite so well. But with Adam’s knowledge and everyone willing to do their parts, it becomes something no one expected. And I was happily surprised. Yet saddened. Sometimes bad things have to happen in order for the good to come through. And it sucks.
But this series is so good. It has lots of unexpected twists and turns that leave you going ‘holy crap’ lol. Well worth the read. I hope you guys give it a chance.
