A newly edited version!
One never intended on being a father and the other isn’t looking for a relationship, but they’re about to find out that what they want and need might be the last thing they expected.
Steve Moore wasn’t planning on being a dad. He envisioned a life of teaching and professional swimming. Fast forward a year and he’s the guardian of his ten-year-old sister. He wants love and passion, but who wants to date a guy with a family?
Farin Baker believed love wasn’t in his cards—until he takes his nephew to swimming lessons. One glance at the water-slicked hunk teaching the class has him thinking about jumping into the dating pool once again. He’s ready for a fresh start and a hot guy for his bed.
Will these two men find heat between the sheets or will the guardianship situation be the biggest detriment to them finding happiness?
REVIEW:
I’m so glad this was about Farin. After seeing him in book one, I really wanted him to find someone himself. He’s such a fun guy. Yeah, he has a foot to mouth problem at times, but his heart is huge and he loves big. He just needed the right guy.
Steve wasn’t looking for love either. After the death of his parents a few years ago, his whole life has been his little sister and taking care of her. Including getting custody and stuff to make sure she’s set for her life. But when he went to his swim class to teach, he got to meet Gage’s Uncle Farin this time, instead of Colin. And boy, did his stomach flitter. So did Farin’s. But as a defense, Farin automatically did the foot to mouth thing again in the few times they’ve met and Colin made him go apologize this time. When they both relaxed, they got to know each other. Sure, it had its ups and downs. Being new always does. Miscommunication, hurt feelings, etc. But when they started getting through it, they got to know each other and it was passionate. And both wanted more of everything. But with the coalition trying to rid the town of gays, Steve’s court date and possibly losing his job, he’s stressed beyond belief. Hopefully their relationship will get off the ground before it has to be over.
Oh, these boys. First, losing their parents. Mix in bad exes. Steve having to raise his sister. It’s all a lot to deal with. So being leery of each other and jumping the gun sometimes with emotions is understandable. It’s hard starting a new relationship period. But with the baggage each person brings, sometimes it can be too much. But what I love about these two, is they keep trying. They have some pushes from here and there to get them going but they keep trying.
It’s been a good series so far. I’m enjoying it. There are some dealings with homophobia and bigotry. The coalition. Idiots. I think they all need to be smacked. Especially after meeting the Finch chick. But other than that, it’s a good story.
