REVIEW:
This was actually a sweet little story. I don’t know if I’d agree with the whole Romeo and Juliet retelling but it was a good little story. Of course, I love the whole angel/demon thing so….great for me.
Rom has to go to the ravaged city limits to find parts to fix their little hole in the wall. He, his sister and dad. His mom ran off to help fight against the demons. He’s tried looking for her but to no avail. What no one knows is that Rom has a little secret of his own. As he and his sister are looking for parts, they come across demons eating humans. They hide til they’re gone and then go scrounging. When Rom’s sister gets trapped, Yuli decided to stop hiding in the shadows following them and help. But he stays hidden so no one knows his secret. Once they get Merce out, Rom and Merce leave. Yuli ends up following and eventually Rom sees him in the forest. And discovers his secret. And almost kills him. When they talk, and Rom finds out Yuli’s story, he tells his own. But can they live together with these secrets? Especially when Rom’s sister finds out and they have to hide it from their dad?
It’s so hard to be different. Especially when your part of different is usually bad. But Yuli isn’t bad. He doesn’t want to harm anyone. Honestly, he just wants a friend or lover and to be left in peace. When he meets Rom, he hopes he found why he was looking for. Once they got past the shock of each other, they both had to realize, they’re just who they are. Their bloodlines don’t make them bad or good, just them. Once the prejudices were gone, it helped. They just wanted to be themselves, in peace and with each other.
A sweet little story.
