Reeling from the painful rejection of a man he thought he loved, Asher is left holding the baby.
Ash wants a family, and is determined to continue with a surrogacy he’d begun with his ex. Bringing baby Mia home, he vows that he will be the best father he can be. Nothing in this world matters more to him than caring for his daughter, not even accidentally falling in lust with the doctor next door. Challenged by his growing attraction to Sean, and confronted by painful memories of his family, Ash has to learn that love is all that matters.
When ER doctor Sean moves in with his friends next door to sexy single father Ash, he falls so quickly it takes his breath away. The sex they have is hot, but Ash is adamant his heart is too full with love for his daughter to let anyone else in. Why is Sean the only one who sees how scared Ash is, and how can he prove to his new lover that he desperately wants the three of them to become a family?
REVIEW:
I really enjoyed this and I think it’s because I can relate so much to Ash. I’ve been a single mom for 17 years and I remember feeling like Ash with everything. Every little noise, checking if the baby is breathing, every little mark, no sleep, wondering if you’re good enough. And the list goes on. Parenting isn’t easy. It doesn’t come with an instruction manual. And even if it did, no two kids are really alike.
I got tickled too, with Ash’s sister. Those two are hilarious. And there was a comment made by Ash about his neighbors about them sounding like the start of a joke and it had me laughing so hard. When or if you’ve read it, you’ll see why.
I don’t know about others but I felt like Ash did when my daughter was born. It’s like life finally truly began. And love I’ve never felt before was there. She was my whole world. Just like Ash and Mia. He also feels very alone. Another well known feeling. He’s trying to do the best he can, he’s exhausted, doubting himself, wanting to do the right thing for his baby. It doesn’t help when lack of sleep and a bad night from the neighbors starts them off on the wrong foot. But apologies are made and they all become friends eventually. Only Sean wants more. Much more. But after Ash’s ex and his time being consumed with Mia, he’s terrified to bring someone else in. It takes some time and patience from Sean but Ash is opening up. Until his ex shows up. And now Sean is terrified he may lose the one person he finally loves.
I really love these guys and the connections the form. The friendships between Sean, Leo and Eric help Ash open up and blossom more. Plus, he’s found a single dad’s support group to help. But I’ve got to tell you, as much as I love these guys, I’ve become enamored of Brady. You don’t see much of him. He and Ash email back and forth through the support group. But his story is the start of something that sounds like it’s going to be a doozy. And finally getting to see him briefly at the end, I know who I want him with. *Crosses fingers*
But all these guys leave a special place in your heart. For one reason or another. Whether their jobs or the way they bond and go out of their way to help others. It’s a good story and the start of a good series.
