A warm welcome to author Sean Connal joining us today to talk about their new release “Escape”.
Connal and Sean are new writers, having only written since 2017. All of their stories thus far are co-authored. We asked: Tell us how you guys met and got started writing together?
Wow – well we met in circa 2008! I met my partner online and in August 2008 I flew down to San Diego where I was attending a conference on psychopathology and decided it was a good time to meet the guy I’d been talking to nightly for the past month. It was love at first sight and we were soon flying back and forth every other weekend to be together. Well, the weekends I was in San Diego, my partner was running at D&D game and Connal was part of it. Conn and my partner had been friends for almost a decade before that. We continued gaming together even after my partner moved to San Francisco and Conn and I would sometimes exchange various texts and talk on Facebook (that was before Conn decided to give up social media all together).
In 2017 we had a particularly intense game and Connal’s character died. He made a new one and I created a follower character to play along side him because he sometimes made very Aspie decisions that other players (and by extension characters) found perplexing. Well… who knew the characters were going to fall in love? And so, the Tale of Two Elves was born! We took the characters and story outside the game and started “playing” on our own. But within three months we had enough content for three books easily. That was when we decided to put our content into books. Tale is still a WIP because we shifted focus later in 2017 to focus on a whole new “game” – and therefore Darklight was born.

San Francisco Pride is in full swing when technomage Theo spots a scared-looking young man with brilliant emerald eyes. He’s only looking for a hookup, but before he knows why, he’s taking Robbie home and introducing him to champagne and enchiladas. He doesn’t have any intention of falling in love.
Robbie doesn’t want to return to his clan, at least not without trying to fit a lifetime of experiences into a week, but every day he stays puts Theo in more danger.

Sean is a shrink who by day spends time in jails and prisons (evaluating criminals) and by night writes romantic fiction. Sean and partner live in San Francisco ruled by their cats and can often be found trying new restaurants. With the understanding that they live in Heaven, Sean adores spending time sitting near the water with a laptop in hand, gazing at the bay and making daydreams a reality for others to enjoy.
Connal works as a Senior DevOps/System Engineer for a gaming company, and plays MMORPG’s when he can, including World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and a few others. Also plays D&D with Sean and his game group. He is a fan of Lucille Ball, Alan Watts, as well as Carl G. Jung and his contemporaries; recently Peter Kingsley who is a scholar of ancient Greece, and a Mystic. He lives with his partner in San Diego with their two cats, but spends a lot of his time sequestered study, surrounded by books and thoughts of mostly dead (authors) people.
