Happy 4th of July ya’ll! I was meandering the world wide web looking for blog post ideas for this month and not only did I see several variations on Author Q&A lists, I realized I’ve never done one for Lovebytes. I’ve always thought this sort of silent interview process was a great way to get to know more about my favorite Authors so this month, it’s all about me! 
What made you want to be a writer?
It was a comment from a friend that first spurred me into action. I was a blogger and reviewer first and I enjoyed that aspect of the writing world so I played with some ideas and wrote some outlines and I was hooked.
How long does it take you to write a book?
Anywhere from 3 months to a year. I have a fulltime job, a family and I like to get out there in the world and live so sometimes, life seriously gets in the way.
What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
I always have a google screen open so I can look up definitions, research places and things, check for synonyms of words I over use.
How do your books get published?
I’m an Indie Author and I publish all my own books. I use Amazon as my main seller as they really do own the market between eBooks and Audible/Audiobooks. I also publish through Smashwords and Draft2Digital as they both farm out to Barnes & Noble as well as iTunes, and several smaller sites like Kobo.
Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?
Everywhere. I will watch something on TV or hear a song on the radio and it will spark a flame that grows into a story. I do a lot of research for my stories as well, I want my there to be a basis in reality and truth in all my books.
How long have you been writing?
7 years, I started the outline for my 1st book, Opposites, in 2012.
What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
I love spending time with my family and close knit group of friends. Festivals, beer and wine tastings, movies and happy hour do get a lot of my attention. I also like to travel and attend book signings and CONs.
What does your family think of your writing?
While they’ve all scratched their heads as to why I chose Gay romance, they are all very supportive.
How many books have you written and which is your favorite?
I’m currently editing my 15th book! I will always be quite fond of my 1st book, Opposites.
Do you hear from your readers much?
All the time, I like to think I have a great relationship with my readers and consider many of them friends. I’m Indie so I market to a smaller group of readers but they are fiercely loyal and so supportive. I have a group a facebook, T.M. Smith’s TRIBE, where I interact with readers and I love, love, love attending signings and getting to meet readers.
Do you like to create books for adults?
Oh yeah. A dirty mind is a terrible thing to waste. I make money off of mine.
What are you currently working on?
I’m currently editing Fighter, the 3rd and final book in the Survivor trilogy. I’m very excited for this book to be released. It’s been a long, hard road to get this one done and I’m ready to share these guys with all my readers.
What’s next on your agenda?
Truth or Consequence, the 8th book in the All Cocks series.
