BLURB:
Elden Richland didn’t want to waste money on an office. Instead, he worked from home, or, when he needed a change of scenery, from The Cure All, a local bar. Staring at Cabe Donovan, the bar owner, may not help Elden get any work done, but it was well worth it.
Cabe had been watching Elden come into The Cure All for months now. Elden might not be his normal type of date, but Cabe didn’t want typical, he wanted forever. He wanted Elden.
But what did a hot bar owner and a computer nerd, who didn’t like the taste of alcohol, have in common? Fireworks.
Warning: Alcohol consumption not only occurs in this book, it is encouraged, over-consumed and, ends with praying to the Porcelain God. Oh, and being naked. Don’t want to forget that. Although, maybe not in the way Cabe hoped.
REVIEW:
I thought Shine was my favorite from book 4, but man, Elden runs a very close second. I just adore his little nerdy self. The little words he uses instead of cussing. He’s incredibly sweet, shy, and you just want to eat him up. However, I will warn you, Elden deals with verbal and emotional abuse at the hands of his mother, so if that bother you, be careful. My only complaint, other than the mother, is there are quite a few grammatical things that need fixed. Other that that, it’s a toss up which I love more.
Elden is so down on himself. Constant put downs from his mother have left him feeling like no one will ever love him. Or that they’re just tricking him. What he doesn’t know, is the man who he’s been eyeballing in the bar, Cabe, sees Elden and wants him more than he wants his next breath. And Cabe is determined to get a date with the man. So, he kind of tricks him into it by inviting him to the New Year Eve bash he’s having at his bar and hopefully getting him there early enough to have a small date with him first. But Elden’s mother has sunk her hooks in and no Elden is very doubtful about what Cabe wants and why. Cabe was going to wait to give the first kiss but he can’t wait anymore and sweeps Elden off his feet with it. Now he just has to get Elden away from that toxicity and show him how much people really do love him. Cabe included.
Why isn’t there an option where we can reach in books and punch someone? Someone needs to create that. That sweet baby’s mother is a bitch and a half and I was almost waiting for Shine to smack her. Cabe would have punched her lol. And almost did when she started in on Elden. And that don’t fly with him. Elden needs people in his corner but he’s never realized people adore him. His mother’s filth has made him feel like he can’t even have a friend. So I’m super super happy when those boys band together and swoop Elden up in with them. They are all determined to make sure know Elden is loved here and respected.
I love the way Cabe sees Elden. He looks beyond the glasses, and sees his favorite color eyes. He looks beyond the awkward nerdy appearance and sees the sensual man underneath. He loves unwrapping the layers that make up Elden and it makes me happy that someone else is on this man’s side.
This book makes me so happy. I love it.
