Sawyer Wahlstrom, CEO of Fidelity Independent Research Group (FIRG) rarely opened email from someone he didn’t know. This one was different.
The subject line read Stop the NuHygen project or the next one will die.
The attached video showed a car being sideswiped, run off the road, and crashing into a line of parked cars at the school bus stop. Children were screaming and it was apparent the driver of the sideswiped car was badly injured.
Asher Radman, special Investigations Unit of The FBI was tasked with finding answers, but he immediately hit a brick wall.
Everyone in the rural town of Thompsonville was hiding something. What is NuHygen and why would someone go to extremes to stop its development.
Simple questions, or so he thought, until his search for answers puts his own life in jeopardy.
REVIEW:
This has been a good series for the most part. At least in terms of concept. I know there have been some grammatical issues that needed to be fixed but I really did like the concept.
I had read this and book one backwards. And in book one, I wasn’t quite sure what to make of Asher. In this one, he comes across as a man on a mission. He’s pushing hard to solve the crimes going on. Especially when it deals with nuclear stuff. The head of a company is being threatened, a worker in the company is almost killed, and more is going on. The biggest problem he has is that everyone seems to have something to hide. And it comes straight from the top. The protest group that is fighting this stuff is more than they seem. At least the ‘leader’. It’s all one big mess that Asher has to figure out before someone gets their hands on something they shouldn’t have.
In this book, I like Asher. He’s straight forward and doing his job. I’m actually glad I read these out of order because in book 1, I couldn’t stand him. He came across as such a dick. I understood to a point. He was undergoing some personal stuff as well. But for this, you get to see a bit of a different side to him.
It’s not a bad series. I’m kind of anxious to see where the next one leads him. And how he reacts to what’s going on in his life.
