REVIEW:
Wow. This is a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants book. It takes you on an ‘adventure’, for sure. If you want to call it that. I’m know the MCs didn’t think it was so fun. It was such a good read, though. This is my first time reading this author and after this I definitely want to read more.
After being in some serious trouble at work, Cole has been put on a probationary period. And surveillance is his job. After sitting, watching for quite a few hours, he sees something that is very suspicious. Men in masks and black heading into a building. Something in his instincts made him follow, and he finally finds what he’s looking for. Three men sent to kill a worker in the building. He manages to distract the men and get Sean out, but there are more outside and following. They want Sean dead for sure. They manage to get away, but they are on the run now. As Cole tries to get Sean to figure out why, he discovering quite a few things himself. And some of it is coming back to him now. Not that he’s done anything wrong but save Sean. As they dig, they find out what is really going on and how deep it goes. Cole does everything he can to save Sean and just when they think they may have finally found a way to fix it all, they’re captured and they may not make it out alive.
Talk about being shoved under the bus. Sean is shoved hard. And at one point, literally. These guys aren’t playing. And the more information they find out, the more I feel for Sean. He has no clue. Things he thought he was doing right was being swept right out from under him. Concerns that should have been brought to him, were confiscated by shady means. He had no clue whatsoever. I can’t imagine the betrayal he felt. And worse, Cole was good at his job. Amd Sean felt like crap about it. He wanted to pull his own weight, but Cole was taking all the shots and beatings. It was a complete mess. The chemistry between them was off the charts as well. Cole being straight, never imagined feeling anything for another man, but he did for Sean. And despite a thing in college, Sean never thought about a guy again. Until Cole. Which made matters that more shattering. Cole knew it could be held against them if ever caught, but you can’t help it if you feel something for someone.
So, so good. It’s a page turner. Truly. There’s ducking, diving, shooting and everything in almost every page. It’s action filled and you can’t help but root for these two to get the bad guys.
