BLURB:
Three lost souls. Thrown together by chance, by circumstance, by life. Two men, one woman. Will they combine to make the perfect storm – creating havoc and destruction all around them, destroying everything they touch, including each other? Or will love prevail and give them what they need, what they desire, what they crave?
Raine Braddock – tough as nails Park Ranger with a heart bigger than the National Park that she lives in, but also a woman who knows what she needs to make her life complete – and that is more than one man to love her. She can’t seem to find men strong enough so she flounders alone, a lost soul in a big park.
Paddington ‘Mac’ McIntyre – Not your typical FBI agent – he’s got piercings, tons of tattoos and enough of an Irish temper to have gotten him into trouble more than his fair share of times. But he’s also got a dark past – a traumatic upbringing by a strict Catholic father has him fighting his true nature, his basic desire, his need – and it’s keeping him angry, confused, lost and unable to find the love that he so desperately needs in his life.
Storm Wilson – DEA agent who has never hid his bi-sexual nature from anyone, not even his co-workers, but with his career stalled as he’s bumped around from every crap case that his supervisor can seem to find, he’s re-thinking his choices and wondering what the hell he’s going to do with his completely lost, lonely, messed-up life.
A series of events: A murder, an opportunity, a chance – bring these lost souls together. Will the love that they find together be enough or will this stormy life try to rip them apart?
Warning – Contains adult subject matter, including graphic language and sex, including: m/f, m/m & m/m/f. It is NOT suitable for younger readers – parental discretion is advised.
Reader Advisory – While the main characters in this book do have an HEA, this is a cliffhanger involving some secondary characters. The secondary characters will go on to become the main characters in the next book in the series.
REVIEW:
Ok so. Wow. I am so beyond not happy with this book. So many things that were just wrong. It’s going to be hard for me to finish this series right now. First, the grammatical errors are many in number. It needs to be edited again. Also, there are triggers. Before I forget. Conversion therapy, kidnapping, torture. This also is mainly about a m/m/f relationship. There is some m/m in the story but it’s secondary.
Ok, so my first issue is the BDSM stuff. Storm claims he’s a Dom, but the chances he has to be a Dom and he screws up. Totally. Also, there’s a secondary couple starting out. One is supposed to be a Dom and he calls his trainee ‘sub’ all the time and it’s just thrown in there. There’s usually always a pet names, like boy or something. It was just so impersonal. Anyway, Storm also got on my last nerve. He was an ass, for me anyway. But my biggest issue with this whole shebang, is the MC suffering from PTSD from conversion therapy. First, you don’t flaunt a sex scene in front of them when the ‘victim’ is terrified of popping a boner for a guy. Second, you don’t make said victim watch gay fucking porn when he was TORTURED for it, with a cattle prod, mind you, for getting a boner from gay porn. Third, when said victim tells you, a Dom, ‘No’ repeatedly about being strapped in a torture chair that reminds him of his ‘conversion therapy’, you DON’T keep him strapped in and fuck him or suck his dick and boom he’s magically all better. Same with the porn. That shit will send a victim farther into a bad place most often, especially when you are trying to force them to just, more or less, get over it. I’ve never been through conversion therapy, and just reading what they were supposed to be doing ‘for’ him, gave me flashbacks of shit. My other issue with this book, is the fact that it was mainly sex. The plot for the story would be great, if it wasn’t screwing on almost every single page. And I’m not knocking a good sex scene, but wow. Too, too much.
The gist of the story is a park ranger, Raine, caught footage of a politician committing murder. They’re coming after her so she can’t testify against him, and Storm and Mac are her bodyguards. They have to protect her. There’s conflict, shootings, near death experiences, and more conflicts that show up from the covert ops they are doing. All the guys from book 1 are back as well. And there are some new characters introduced who star in book three. The Dom and his trainee. The rest is all sex.
Try it, if you guys are intrigued, but it’s not for me.
