RELEASE DATE: April 10, 2019
BLURB:
An overweight omega puts his life in the hands of a battered and bruised alpha…
Captain Aries did not escape his last mission unscathed. His work with the Elite Force is always dangerous—it’s not easy protecting an entire town of trusting shifters from outside threats—but Aries blames himself for the danger he put his team in. To make certain that will never happen again, he decides to resign after one last mission: to protect a VIP named Arthur on his way to Morningwood. Aries failed as a Captain, he won’t fail as a bodyguard.
Arthur has lived his life alone and on the run. Hiding from his sadistic twin, Arthur keeps a low profile. Overweight and afraid, he cloaks himself in clothes and never engages with shifters, despite being one himself. His evil brother taught him that shifters only bring danger. But when a ruggedly handsome Captain from Morningwood shows up at his house to escort him to the shifter community, for the first time, Arthur wants to believe he could be safe.
Arthur isn’t just concerned with himself though. He has his adopted daughter, Harlow, to care for. At two, she should be years away from her first shift, which makes her ability to spontaneously turn into a tiny bunny strange. Not to mention the troubles it causes around bath time.
Aries is drawn to Arthur from the first moment, but who would want a battered alpha like him? He has no right to put a claim on Arthur. Aries knows the single father is perfect just the way he is and deserves perfection in return. But when a rival alpha approaches Arthur and offers him the safe life he craves, will Aries stand back and watch his future family be whisked away?
Hop On: Welcome to Morningwood Book Five is a full-length omegaverse romance with equal parts heart, angst, humor, and steam. It can be read as a standalone or in order and has a definite, you don’t gotta worry ‘bout it HEA.
REVIEW:
This series just gets better and better. I don’t even know if I could pick a favorite now. I love them all. One thing I love about this series, is that the shifters aren’t always these buff, built, big everything guys. Well, not all anyway lol. And I love that. This book is a continuation from book 3. Psycho Golden Bone is gone, and everyone is trying to pick up the pieces. Especially his twin.
With all the utter hell Arthur has been through, he doesn’t know if he can take one more false claim of Artemis (Golden Bone) not being truly dead. Maybe he can make a fast get away again before Artemis can kill him. But Aries is there to protect him and guard him and Harlow, his adopted daughter. So maybe it won’t be that bad. Arthur is already scared to death. Not having been around shifters his whole life, he doesn’t know how to act or feel. And with Aries, his hormones are now in overdrive. He can’t be in heat on top of all this, can he? But he is. And now he has to confirm and pick up his twin’s ashes. Things just can’t be worse. But the scent of Artemis sends Harlow on the run in fear, and now she’s the center of attention because she can shift too soon. And the new leader of the rabbits seems to be trying to get a bit too close. With hormones out of whack, the cloud of his psycho brother hanging around, and Aries showing an huge interest, Arthur doesn’t know which way to run. Or if he should stay put.
To know you were the twin of a psycho like Golden Bone, looking just like him, except for the weight difference, would be enough to send anyone into a bad mindset. Knowing said brother was trying to kill you as much or more than anyone else, yeah I’d be in a panic all the time too. And then knowing the history behind Harlow? Hell to the no. I’d be getting plastic surgery or something and a new set of names. Especially with Arthur’s computer skills. I can’t even feel bad enough for him. And being hit full force with Aries. Aries is being great. Patient, easy and gentle. Trying to set him and Harlow at ease. But never being around shifters, he’s not had to deal with the stuff that comes with being an Omega. Or a shifter. He hasn’t shifted in so long, he doesn’t know if he can anymore. He knows he needs to not be so fearful for Harlow’s sake, but after having to be on the run for so long, it’s a hard habit to break. And no man has ever really been interested in him because of his weight, so he doesn’t know how to act with Aries. The man needs a hug and a break.
Aries isn’t dealing much better. His injury from Golden Bone has left him feeling like a failure. With what happened to his team as well, it slaps him in the face everyday. His jackal is going crazy with the heat scent Arthur is giving off, but he doesn’t feel worthy enough for the man. And here Arthur is thinking he’s not good enough for Aries. It breaks my heart with all these guys have been through. But I love Aries even more for how he loves Arthur. He keeps showing how special Arthur is, how beautiful his curves are and it’s so touching. They both have a lot to overcome and healing to get through. It’s not an easy thing.
I forgot to mention earlier that there may be a trigger or two. With it being Golden Bone, even though he’s dead, there’s still the aftermath and recovery. Some of what he did is described just a bit, so be careful if it’s a trigger for you. Otherwise, it’s a beautiful story. Of hope, new beginnings and love.

I was hoping to find this series in audiobook. Does the author have any plans to have these books narrated?
