Welcome to author Mickie B. Ashling joining us today to talk about the re release of Impacted
Welcome Mickie 🙂
I’d like to thank Dani for giving me the opportunity to share an exclusive excerpt of Impacted! This novel was originally published in 2009 when I was a total newbie. The second edition offers a brand new cover designed by the fabulous Kanaka along with extensive edits for a more enjoyable reading experience. This is the first in a five-book BDSM series involving dental professionals. I know you’re probably thinking dentistry can’t possibly be hot—but my guys are! I hope you’ll give them a try.
When Robin entered the dental office through the back door, as he’d been instructed during the interview, he went straight to the staff room. He shrugged off his jacket, hung it up, and stashed his backpack on the floor at the back of the closet. He wore navy blue scrubs today, the new set his mother insisted he buy to bring out the color of his eyes and complement his copper curls. Bracing his shoulders, he took a deep breath and walked into Dr. Morris’s office for the morning huddle. The first person he saw was his fuck boy holding a cup of coffee. He was in a white lab coat with the name Scott Gregory embroidered on its left pocket.
They stared at each other, openmouthed. Here was the living embodiment of the man he’d been fantasizing about for days. A vivid image of the blond handcuffed to his car door—begging to be fucked, his thick cock bobbing—leaped into Robin’s head. It was so clear he could feel the hot flesh underneath his palm as he slapped the raised ass. It made the blood rush to his cheeks and other parts of his body.
“Scott,” Dr. Morris announced loudly. “This is Robin Kennedy, the hygienist I was telling you about.”
Looking dazed, Scott reached out to take his proffered hand. “Pleased to meet you.”
“Likewise,” Robin replied, squeezing Scott’s hand a little too tightly.
“Robin,” Dr. Morris continued, “Dr. Gregory will go over our office policies and expectations. Did you bring back the forms I need?”
“Yes, I did.”
“Dr. Gregory will explain payroll and banking as well. Right, Scott?”
“Right.”
Turning to Robin, Scott pointed at the door. “Shall we?”
“You bet.”
Robin followed him out the door and down a hallway. They entered a small room with a desk, computer, and filing cabinet. Scott took a seat. He looked like a cornered animal about to be slaughtered. His hands were clasped together on top of the desk calendar.
“Please shut the door.”
Robin complied and turned back to Scott with a bemused expression on his face. “Relax, will you? I’m trying to process this as well.”
Scott cleared his throat. “Have a seat.”
Robin perched on the edge of the chair. He stared at his new employer, who looked beautiful in his lab coat, almost as gorgeous as he looked naked and begging. Waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop and wondering where he could find another job on short notice, Robin scrubbed his face, and a small groan escaped his lips.
Scott started to chuckle, the incongruous sound bubbling out of him without warning. Robin was shocked by the startling reaction and broke into a smile, finally giving in to the hilarity of it all. Sounds of laughter reverberated in the small office. They laughed so hard the tears were rolling down their cheeks.
“What are the fucking odds this would happen?” Scott asked after he got it together.
“Unbelievable,” Robin replied, wiping his eyes with the back of his hands.
“I thought your name was Red?”
“It’s my nickname. Does Morris even know you’re gay?”
“Hell, no.”
“And a pain slut?” Robin grinned.
“Shut up, or I’ll have to kill you.”
“How on earth did you end up in this practice?”
“I might ask the same of you. I’m sure Ron doesn’t know you’re gay.”
“You’re right, but I don’t have a lot of opportunities as a new graduate. You must have had a dozen other offers.”
“It’s a long story,” Scott said. “But I’d rather discuss it outside the office. Do you want to meet tonight?”
“Of course. Do you have any idea how many times I’ve jerked off since our encounter?”
“God.” Scott raked his fingers through his hair, ruining his professional look. “Quit it, or I’ll do something stupid and we’ll both get fired.”
“Sorry,” Robin replied. “Or not.”
“Not?”
“The thought of me coming down your throat will be on my mind all day.”
Scott frowned. “Get to work.”
Robin stood to go but lingered as he gazed down at Scott, who was staring at him with avid interest. Talk about luck. His day had gone from so-so to spectacular in the blink of an eye. The idea of being in a practice owned by a homophobic creep no longer bothered him. There was strength in numbers, and knowing Scott was in the same position and literally at his fingertips made Robin’s entire body thrum with excitement.
“Yes, sir.” His lips curled into a wicked smile. “You realize you’re going to pay for making me call you sir.”
“Call me Dr. Gregory.”
Robin bent down quickly and reached across the desk, pulling Scott out of his seat and attacking his mouth with a ferocious kiss, leaving them breathless.
“Have a nice day, Dr. Gregory.”
Scott’s stunned expression was the only answer Robin needed. Confident his job was secure, he could dwell on the endless possibilities.
