TITLE: Gage
SERIES: Redemption #2
AUTHOR: J. J. Harper
PUBLISHER: Self Published
LENGTH: 171 pages
RELEASE DATE: February 7, 2019
BLURB:
Gage is happy, happier than he thought possible. He has Wolff Mannheim, the man he has always loved, even when he hated him, back by his side and in his bed. He is confident that their relationship can only grow stronger as they continue to rediscover each other.
When a letter appears after twelve years of silence from the family that disowned him and cast him out, he has Wolff to lean on. The contents of the letter have left Gage reeling but also have him reuniting with his estranged sister. When the shocks keep coming, it forces Gage back to his family home—a place he never thought he would return to. At least, this time, he has Wolff by his side as well as his sister.
As Gage faces the man who threw him carelessly away, he proves himself to be the better man, a stronger man, than the one forced away so many years earlier. With all his demons put to rest, can Gage live his life with his one true love?
This is book two in the Redemption Series and follows on immediately from Wolff, book #1.
While it can be read as a standalone, it’s best enjoyed reading in order. Contains some very steamy man-on-man loving and is advised for 18+ only.
REVIEW:
At the ending of book one I had to get my hands on this next book in this series.
Gage has finally forgiven Wolff for his actions when they were still in school and now they can move on with their lives and build their new relationship. Just when things seemed to be going good Gage is rocked with another part of his past…his long forgotten family that threw him away when he came out.
These books are very fast reads and I am just getting to the good parts and I have to wait for the next installment. And I’m not very good at waiting. I think that I would have either preferred these to be full-on novels and not just quick stories. Easily books one and two could have been combined in my opinion. When the next book in a serial or series comes out it’s not uncommon for a recap of the last book. When they are this short of novellas or short stories that burns up too much of the new story time. Then there has to be the last part left open for the hook or cliffhanger of sorts. Being a reader who doesn’t do waiting well cliffhangers are my evil nemesis. That being said, I like the characters and want more. I just wish the books were a bit longer and I could get my much needed happily ever after so we can get on to the next character in the series and what happened to them and what they need.
I like these men and their stories and am waiting eagerly for more in the next book.
