Opposites attract on an overseas holiday, but trouble has hitched a ride.
While Bronco’s nightclub is closed for renovations, the owners invite the staff on a trip to Italy. Bartender Hank needs a roommate, and he’s had his eye on waiter Grant for a while, even if he’s had to keep his distance. But sharing such close proximity means sparks are sure to fly….
Grant has a problem saying no, and it’s led him into some less-than-healthy relationships. While he’s determined not to repeat his mistakes, it’s clear Hank is different.
They’re both willing to take it slow and explore the feelings building between them, but even in a foreign country, their pasts are catching up, and that could hurt more than just their budding romance.
REVIEW:
In Over and Back we read about Bull and Harry’s nightclub Bronco’s bartender Hank and waiter Grant. Hank and Grant have been circling each other for months now. Grant thinks Hank hates him and Hank thinks Grant is hot cute! It doesn’t help that one of the other waiters, troublemaker Billy is always flirting with Hank.
Both men have recently come out of bad relationships with a lot of residual baggage. Hank has an addiction that is getting help with but that doesn’t make a difference to his ex-Danny. Danny makes threats to Hank all the time about him going out with any man but especially Grant! Grant left a very controlling man Timothy, who thinks he’s a Dom but you get the feeling he’s just a domineering bully who doesn’t listen to his partner! Because of these experiences both Hank and Grant are terrified of falling back into the same type of relationships.
Bronco’s is closing down for a month for renovations so the group has decided to head to Italy for a two-week vacation. Grant gets roped into going by Zach as Hank has two tickets, for him and his ex but now they’re no longer an item he’s realized he can’t afford to go alone. After much consideration Grant decides that he can hide how he feels about Hank and share a room with him for two weeks since they would be with all the others.
Whilst on vacation Hank and Grant become friends then they decide to throw caution to the wind and take a chance on a beginning a relationship. Everything goes well until Bull’s past catches up with all of them!
I really enjoyed reading this book as it’s a new series of Andrew’s for me. I’m definitely going to be getting the first four books so that I can find out how all the couples got together!
I love the way you get to read about all the previous books characters so you always catch up with what’s happening in their lives. The feeling of danger Hank and Grant feel when danger catches up with them is delivered in the right way, it’s not dumped on you in one hit but neither is it glossed over! There is a lot of depth to this book which I’m sure I’m going to get when I read the first four books!!
Well done Andrew Grey for yet another love story that’s a little bit dark, a little bit angsty and a whole lot of fun to read.
Don’t forget to get your copy!!!
