Wray Dunn was sure he had to be hallucinating. No one was actually stupid enough to try and do a handstand on a moving tractor, right? But no matter how many times he blinked or looked away, each time he returned to the sight before him, it ended up being the same, a beautiful man, who could light up the night sky with his smile, was, indeed, holding onto the steering wheel upside down. Finding out that daredevil was his mate was like a punch in the gut, since there was no way Wray could keep him.
Elton Blakey had one motto – live life to the fullest. He didn’t believe in restraint, no matter how extreme the challenge might be. It wasn’t always easy, especially when others tried to squash his dreams, but he’d gotten over that long ago. If only his mate didn’t feel the need to do the same.
If neither one can learn to compromise, they will lose out on their one chance at love. It will take a Miracle to teach them to Savor Every Moment.
Warning: Extreme childhood trauma and abuse is depicted in this book.
REVIEW:
The small town of Miracle has certainly come a long way since the beginning of the series. The place is now flooded with shifters in all shapes and sizes, and many of them are present in this story. So if you haven’t read any books in this series yet, I wouldn’t suggest starting here, or you might get the feeling that you’re missing some of the ingredients. Having said that, I’ve seen reviews from others that say this was the first of the series that they read and it worked out just fine. So, up to you.
Elton is one of the new shifters who found their way to Miracle in the last book, so we don’t know all that much about him yet. Here he takes center stage, and boy does he run with the attention. Elton is a flamingo shifter, and is about as flamboyantly gorgeous as his inner animal. He refuses to hide his light for anyone, and sees nothing wrong with living his life to the fullest in a reckless daredevil fashion. I’m afraid I wasn’t a huge fan of Elton. His ‘this is me’ attitude slid a little far into selfishness as far as I’m concerned. No, you shouldn’t need to change yourself to suit other people but you should still consider the consequences of your actions in regards to others. And while Wray went too far in the other direction, living his life desperate not to make any waves or take any risks, I felt like he was the one who had to make all of the compromises in their relationship. So it’s fair to say that this wasn’t my favourite couple of the series.
However, I love any of these books that have a good battle in them, and this one definitely delivered. Poor citizens of Miracle. No matter how many fights they win, no matter how many councils they take over, there are always more evil, homophobic shifters who want to burn the town to the ground and kill them all. This series has some rather epic fights, and Savor Every Moment ended with the promise of more to come. I can’t wait for the next book in the series, as the town continues to grow and there are still so many characters I love who don’t have their love on yet.
