AUTHOR: Diane Adams
PUBLISHER: Love Lane Books
LENGTH: 275 pages
BLURB:
Eighteen-year-old Gage Harris is not a part of twenty-five year old Trent Foster’s plans. He likes Gage but the intense attraction between them makes remaining just friends unlikely, and the young farmer with two small children is a complication Trent doesn’t need.
Despite all the reasons to stay away, Trent is pulled into the small family. Gage’s boys are delightful and the young man’s honesty and genuine affection impossible to resist. Trent is intrigued by a life so different from everything he’s known. As he struggles to reconcile his plans with his feelings Trent begins to suspect that his random offer of a ride in the rain might lead straight to his last first kiss
RETRO REVIEW:
Last First Kiss is a quiet romance. It’s one about family, impossible situations and making the tough choices. I loved how you could feel the connection between Gage and Trent from the start, it was in every page, every interaction, the UST and longing was exactly right. I didn’t like that they were so young for the struggles they faced. But let’s face it; life isn’t perfect, it doesn’t conform to your time frame or anyone else’s. It’s also one of the reasons why I enjoyed it. It was out of the norm. My favourite parts of this book were Gage’s snippets, or rather blog posts. They were so honest and heartfelt and truly set the tone for the book.
Somehow he has erased my loneliness and filled the silence even in his absence.

REVIEW:
For some reason I struggled with this book. Where I found myself falling deeply and instantly for both children (Nash & Cody) and I felt real affection for Gage, I just couldn’t find a click with the chemistry between both main characters Gage & Trent.
This story is a relatively simple story but with some great really life aspects hidden in it.
Author Diane Adams finds a terrific way of writing about the struggles of a young father dealing with the circumstances and consequences that life has passed his way and the way he “choose” to live.
As I mentioned before both children are adorable. They warm your heart and make you smile. The way they innocently capture Trent’s heart is the highlight in this novel. The openness and gentle love and caring they expres even at this young age represents Gage and his sweet but strong ability to be a good father to them and to make this work no matter the costs.
As a reader we follow how slowly and carefully Trent and Gage both try to find a way to handle the attraction that is there between them and the obstacles that seem to be in the way.
Gage is still married and Trent doesn’t want to settle in the job he is doing now let alone the rest still in the position and life he is living now.
Can they both find a way to have what they both seem to want more than all the other things combined…namely each other?
When Trent unknowingly risks their fragile relationship, the odds seem to be against of them. Both of them are being tested and author Diane Adams left me as a reader wondering if there would be a way out at all.
With help of the very sexy doctor Jax and unexpected help from Gage’s wife they are able to find the way back together.
Will there be a HEA though in the end as Trent is still putting of a decision about his future not to mention that Gage is still the father of two small boys.
That though is something you as a reader will need to find out 😉
