Can Devon wish his way out of the hole he’s found himself in? He’d like a new job, some revenge on his lying ex, and maybe even love. Johnny can give him what he wants, but it won’t come for free… or in the ways Devon expects. Can he trust a sexy leprechaun to help him make a new start and wish himself into the arms of the man of his dreams?
REVIEW:
Devon is not having a good day when he meets Johnny. Life is certain not being kind to Devon, but then along comes Johnny, being sweet and making promises. When he offers to help Devon fix everything, Devon is skeptical but finally agrees to let him try. This just get interesting from there.
For me, the story is really about Devon getting to know himself better…and Johnny too. The leprechaun helps Devon in ways that Devon never imagined and the journey they take together will leave you smiling.
The author introduces us to an interesting bunch of side characters, including Devon’s ex and his new boyfriend and Devon’s new boss. They all play their part in helping Devon and Johnny find their way to each other.
One of my favorite things about this story is that the thing Johnny seems to be doing is paying attention to Devon and pushing him toward the things that are already a part of his life and have the potential for making him happy.
This is a cute story, with really low angst and if you are looking for something to cheer you up this will definitely do it. I like a little more angst in my stories to sweeten the HEA, but once in a while, something sweet as sugar is just what the doctor ordered.
It’s not a perfect story. It lags in spots and gets a little bogged down, but for the most part it’s very enjoyable. With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner, it’s the perfect little Irish treat.
Johnny is sassy and funny, but there’s a little insecurity in him too and it goes a long way to round him out as a character.
Devon is just plain lovable and I wanted to mother him just a little.
The cover is adorable and was one of the reasons I picked up this story to review. The writing is smart and the author has a great way with dialogue. I’ve read quite a few stories by this author and I haven’t been disappointed yet.
