Adorably naive and shockingly brilliant Harrison Lessardi only needs two things in life: his pet iguana, Steve, and his undying love of science. That is until he witnesses his best friend lay eggs, and a third must-have strolls into his apartment—the sardonic and mischievous Everard Drake.
Everard Drake, celebrated doctor of the tremendously wealthy Drake family, has one goal in mind when he arrives at the scene of his youngest brother’s latest disaster: incinerate Harrison Lessardi. Unfortunately for Everard, the moment he spots Harry, incineration becomes an impossibility—he must have the gorgeous beta as his own, even if it means holding him captive on his estate.
But something else lurks behind Everard’s interest in Harry—something that tugs at Everard’s soul in impossible ways, and that will send Everard and Harry down a rabbit hole of discovery that will change the world as they know it.
An alpha and a beta can’t share a bond.
REVIEW:
I’d like to be able to sketch you, since you took away my phone.”“Sketch me?”“Oh, yes!” Harry enthused. “And your dragon penises.”“Penises? I only have the one.” Harry’s face fell. “Oh. Most herps have two. They can copulate with either one.”“Fascinating, but I assure you, dragons have but one penis.”
Oh my gah! I laughed so damn hard I almost woke up my kid. This is the funniest damn book. I am in high adoration of Harry. He is just the best lol. And don’t think it’s escaped my notice that Everard keep calling Harry food dishes. *Snorts*
“Yes, we can get erections in dragon form.” Harry perked up. “Fascinating. Can I see?”“No.”“But I just want to make some sketches!”“No!”“Do you masturbate in that form? ” Harry turned the page in his book then looked back up at Everard expectantly. “Many reptiles masturbate. They rub their penises along the ground. It’s very healthy for them.”
As you can tell, I love this book. This is my favorite so far. I could post comments galore that had me rolling so bad. Harry is so unbelievably innocent and naive, that he’s just perfect. He’s sweet as can be, and reminds me so much of a kid, with all the questions and curiosity. He’s so into his science and discovery of things, he doesn’t even think of sex. Well, he didn’t really, until Everard came along lol.
With the discovery of Nate’s eggs, and that his mate is a dragon shifter, Harry has come across quite a few things he wasn’t supposed to. And it was going to be Everard’s job to dispose of him. But one look at the lovely beta and all Ev thought was ‘mine.’ But it’s not destined to be anything since betas can’t mate or lay eggs. But there’s something extremely special about Harry, and the more they ‘dig’ to find things out, the more the truth finally comes out. And it’s some doozies. Shock is what is in Everard’s mind and very soon after… definitely mine. (Harry, of course.) And now it’s time to experiment and quite possibly make some long overdue changes. Long overdue.
Harry is just the epitome of sweet innocence. He really is. The bonds he creates with the whelps are just amazing. To the point that the whelps try to take on full grown dragons to protect Harry. And you can’t help but want to give him everything you can. Ev can’t help but want to drape him in everything from his horde. And for Ev, that’s huge.
Everard is an enigma of his own. He comes across so arrogant and asinine, but yet with Harry, even when he’s driving Ev nuts, he’s compassionate, gentle and kind.
The only thing that drives me absolutely crazy in this series is the way they all claim Alastair as inferior. It infuriates me. And with some discoveries Ev is making with being with Harry, he should be the first one to change his opinion.
Either way, it’s still my favorite book in this series. I just adore it.
