Mossad Operative, Adael Dayan, has long been a pain in the ass to ATF special agents, Thayne Wolfe and Jarrett Evans. Showing up in the middle of their cases time after time hasn’t endeared him to the pair but both men grudgingly have to admit, he’s usually provided valuable assistance. When Adael suddenly wakes up believing he’s been poisoned, it becomes a race against the clock to help find the person who’s done this to him and learn why in time to save his life.
Race Parker, former Green Beret, once carried Adael away from a vicious mercenary. Deeply attracted to Adael, Parker stayed with Dayan in the hospital hoping there might be a future between them. When Adael yanked his hand out of his the moment Jarrett Evans showed up, Race didn’t hang around. He wasn’t falling for a guy who wanted someone else.
Long ago Jarrett left Adael and the bad memories that ended their mission in Gaza behind. When he’d seen Parker and the Israeli in the hospital together, he’d had hope that maybe Adael might finally find happiness regardless of Adael’s insistence that gay men never remained monogamous for long.
Thayne has long been resentful of the relationship Adael had with Jarrett. Every time the Israeli shows up, things go from bad to worse. In this final installment of the Death and Destruction series, our men will once again be thrown from the frying pan into the fire, and all because a rogue Israeli spy can’t keep his bullshit to himself.
REVIEW:
This was a hard one because I already knew we wouldn’t get anymore from this series and it hurts to see it end.
We now get Adael’s story and, I for one, really needed for Adael to get his HEA! Why do you ask??? Because, if Adael gets a permanent loving relationship, Thayne’s mind can finally be put at ease! It is no secret that Jarrett loves Thayne with all his heart but it’s hard when his former lover keeps showing up and it’s blatantly obvious that the man wants your husband. And, for this woman, it’s all about my two men!
I really enjoyed the dynamic between Race and Adael. It is obvious that Race has been attracted to Adael from the moment the gorgeous Marine now FBI agent saved his life in the last mission where Adael was hurt. The one thing I would have liked more of was the interaction between these two men that changed Adael’s mind and heart to embracing monogamy. I am sure they are super hot together and I would have liked to have seen more of it on-page. That was the only reason for this book losing a half star for me. Adael has met his perfect match in the stubborn but loving Race.
It was great to get to see some of the regulars, especially Lincoln and Sarah sitting down to dinner with their sweet daughter Chloe. I am going to miss them all. With this series these characters became real. They became a part of my “book families” and I still hope that we might get a novella from time to time. Or that they continue to show up in new series or spin-offs. I know this would not be out of the norm for this author, to which I am thankful.
A very special part of this book was getting one last special, intimate moment with Thayne and Jarrett. They are a very special couple that I have truly enjoyed watching their love for each other bloom and grow. They will forever be a part of my heart.
I am really having a hard time knowing that this series is ending. I cut my teeth with these guys and have become a huge fan of this amazing and talented author. The positive note was that Thayne and Jarrett came through this one without a single scratch. I can’t say as much for Adael but payback is a bitch and it was his time! Highly recommend this series and finale.
