Until I Don’t.
The digital world is a great place – until it isn’t. I recently got an email from my credit card company saying my online access was frozen due to multiple failed attempts to log on via the mobile app. Problem, I didn’t try to access my account via their mobile app because I don’t even HAVE their mobile app.
Now, nothing happened, the person trying to get into my account failed. The card wasn’t used, but according to the security dude, the person had to have had my username. Even with nothing bad happening, it’s still an unsettling feeling. Like I said, I love the digital world… until I don’t.
And another thing, I really love when Facebook shares my memories of ‘lil q from years ago. It always gives me a smile. Until I don’t. I see those pictures and videos and realize she’s growing up too fast. I miss those days when she was 3, 4, or 5. And I can’t stop her from getting older. Seeing her grow and become who she is going to be is wonderful. I love it. It’s the realization that those cute days are gone that I don’t love so much.
Finally, this from my seven-year-old. She asked, why does February only have 28 days? Beats me. I really have no idea why they made February so short. ‘lil q didn’t understand how I didn’t know the answer. I had to tell her, I do know everything, until I don’t. That confused her even more. There goes my, ‘Papa knows everything crown.’
New stuff
For the first time in a long time, I have new release information to share. Starting with my split personality. I’ve spoken before about my reasons for keeping my writing worlds separate, so I won’t repeat that now. But, I have a new contemporary MM romance novel coming out March 26th under my Andy Gallo pen name. Better Be Sure is the first in a series and it will be released by Dreamspinner Press. It’s available for pre-order now. (Yeah, I probably should be more promotional, but really, I’ll do enough of that soon.)
Turning to my other side, the last book in Champion of the Gods is coming soon. When Heroes Fall showed off its cover recently and it will be out May 14th. This was a long journey from the first word to ‘the end,’ but we’ve reached the conclusion. As I’ve said before, the title is appropriate. Heroes will fall. You’ll need to read it to find out which ones.
I’ll talk more about When Heroes Fall in the next couple of months.
For those who haven’t follow the series, you can get a free copy of the first book- The Last Grand Master - by signing up for my newsletter. Once you’re hooked, (and I hope you will be) there’s still time to read the other books before Book 5 is released. And since the first four books are a tad over 500k words, you’re gonna need some time.
Until next month,
Andrew Q. Gordon wrote his first story back when yellow legal pads, ball point pens were common and a Smith Corona correctable typewriter was considered high tech. Adapting with technology, he now takes his MacBook somewhere quiet when he wants to write.
Since devouring The Lord of the Rings as a preteen, he has been a fan of all things fantastical. His imagination has helped him create works of high fantasy, paranormal thrills and touch of the futuristic. He also writes the occasional contemporary story.
He currently lives in the Washington, D.C. area with his husband of twenty-three years. Together they are raising their daughter and three dogs. Andrew tries to squeeze writing time in around his most important jobs, being husband and ‘Papa.’ Along with teaching how to kick a soccer ball or ride a scooter, he has become fluent in cartoon characters and children’s books.
