Sex and chocolate are the two pleasures Michał enjoys most in life.
His sex life has been nonexistent for some time, though. After a particularly bad hookup, he keeps mostly to himself. That leaves chocolate. Luckily, he works surrounded by the most delicious, extravagant produce in Gothenburg. Beside his job at the chocolaterie, his main source of excitement is his online friend, Magnus, whom he stubbornly refuses to meet in person.
A customer turns up at the chocolaterie one day—tall, shy, and charming. He could be just the right man. If Michał can step out of his overly safe shell, there might be not only chocolate, but sex, too. Maybe chocolate-flavored sex. And if he’s lucky, maybe even love.
Warning:
This book contains explicit scenes, adult language, and obscene amounts of chocolate.
REVIEW:
“I could spend days listening to you talk about chocolate.”
I absolutely love this book. It was sweet, romantic, and of, full of chocolate 😉 . The characters gave you that warm, fuzzy feeling, even Michal’s roommate. Who is a pistol. There were a couple of grammatical things, like missing periods, but thankfully didn’t detract from the story. And I will apologize now, because I can’t correctly spell Michal’s name because I don’t have it on my keyboard.
Magnus, in all honesty, was Michal’s best friend. Even though they’ve never technically met. They were supposed to, but Michal got sick, Magnus moved for a job and poof. No more date. But they were interested enough in each other, that they continued talking. Two years later, they were still talking and very close. But Michal has been hurt before, physically and emotionally, and fears creep in when it comes to dating. So when Magnus suggests they finally meet because he wants more out of their relationship, Michal gets scared. Even though it’s Magnus, his best friend. But soon, Magnus is tapering off his messaging, which upsets Michal. To make matters worse, a beautiful bear of a man has started coming to see Michal and Michal is definitely interested. Now he has to figure out how to let go of the guilt and fear to maybe date the man of his dreams and let go of Magnus.
If I were Michal, I’d be afraid too. Having been hospitalized for a bad date, he’s leery. And even though he and Magnus have talked for two years, they’ve never officially met. So Michal doesn’t know if the man behind the screen is really safe. With there being so many online predators, you never know. And he’s afraid he will lose what he has with Magnus if they meet. But he broke my heart, because he’s so lonely and wants someone to love and love him. Someone to grow old with. And he’s such a sweetheart. A little shy, but beautiful, with a heart of gold.
I felt for Magnus, too. I mean, where do you draw the line? He’s gotten so close to Michal, he feels in love with the man. But he was there, not physically, but support wise, when Michal got beat up. So he’s torn. He doesn’t want to push Michal and scare him, but he wants to be a part of his life in a different way now. He wants more. He wants everything. He just has to figure out a way to do so that doesn’t push Michal too far and lose what he has.
I love these two. They deserve each other. So much. They’re each other’s perfect match, so to speak. But letting fears and the past overwhelm you can cause you to lose what you really want. Sometimes you just have to take a flying leap and trust in the other person.
This is such a great little story. And I want to read more by this author now.
